good started pipe

Please note that this is a petite pipe! Fit and finish are very good, I wanted to see what could be accomplished with pear wood and so far I am pretty certain that this will enter my rotation. It does not come "pre-smoked" like certain other tobacco pipes so I am in process of building up the initial layer of caking. Will either amend this review or add an addendum after it's in condition to smoke a complete bowl with one go.

4/24/15 Additional information. The finish on the bowl is some kind of water based something. I made the mistake of touching the bowl with damp fingers and the finish transferred. It also created raised areas. Since the wood is so light in density it does smoke hot so be warned

Great costume pipe, don't know about how it works with actual smoking.

If you enjoy pipe smoking, this pipe is a great way to do so. It is carved from Pear Wood. It comes apart easily from the stem just by sliding it out, and the bowl is just the right size. It has a nice draw to it, and I think it is just the right size. It fits nicely in your hand if you enjoy smoking while reading or relaxing. It ships in a protective box that would work for storing the pipe as well, although I suggest getting a tobacco pouch that also stores your pipe.

This pipe is great for any pipe smoker, from the beginner to the well seasoned smoker who wants a nice pipe to add to a pipe collection.
