i was short on time and ordered this product before traveling to an Ironman race. I have a ceramic chain and wanted to protect it from road grime and rain. I was initially apprehensive because of all the negative reviews, but was pleasantly surprised. This product worked very well and it is easy to put on, even with my oversized pulleys. I would recommend it to serious triathletes who want to protect their "baby" when taking it on a road trip.

I have a cat who likes to nibble on my derailleur, so I needed some type of cover to prevent him from ruining my bike. First, this cover arrived in a GIGANTIC box the size of a movie poster. The fabric itself is somewhat flimsy. I couldn't figure out how to property attach it to my bike, so I ended up draping it over the derailleur - it covered most of it, but not all. I have a tall size bike, but I don't believe the dimensions of the gears are any different, but this wouldn't fit over the entire gear mechanism. I attempted to get it to fit and the fabric tore very easily. Also, while attaching this to my bike, I got grease all over my hands. I bike daily, so I need an easy on/easy off cover, and this took too much time to figure out.
I've gone back to draping an old towel over the gears, and that prevents kitty from both biting the wires and rubbing against the tire.

I loved the idea. I had just purchased an expensive bike and had to drive a great distance with it getting soaked on the back bike rack and so a chain cover seemed like a good idea. However this thing was too small for my bike, kinda cumbersome to attach (even if it had fit) and doesn't seem like it would have done much on a long drive, but collect a bunch of water that your chain would be soaking in. Maybe not, but seemed kinda ineffective with the back side only slight closed with Velcro straps. I sent it back.
It does the job well.

This is a nice product. It keeps the entire drive train protected and protects everything else from getting oil on it. The Velcro straps make it a bit tedious to install but once you do it a few times it goes on with not much trouble at all. There may be better covers out there from bigger names but this cover can not be beat for the price.

My teammates and I have travelled from Lousiana to Florida to South Texas with our bikes and were SO glad we invested the $11 to buy these bags. We hit rain on a couple of occassions and while other cyclists covered their chains with plastic bags, we felt like pros with our fancy chain covers :) worth the buy if you travel for tours or have to store your bike in the off season.
