Seemed to work fine

I needed to track down a short in my 2001 Suburban. The battery would drain overnight. I installed a disconnect switch on the battery which prevented it from draining, but was a bit of a hassle - needed to reconnect it everytime I want to use the vehicle and the clock was always wrong.
So I watched a YouTube video that showed how to track down the offending circuit. It said you needed a 10 watt 1 ohm resistor to monitor the the battery draw with a multimeter. I used one of these and hooked up my multimeter and started pulling fuses. I found the problem.
I'm not an electrical engineer, electrician or mechanic, so I'm not sure why you need this, but it did what it was expected to do.

Used this to reset the car computer. I like the shape and bends on the end. Just attached it to alligator clips and attached those to the battery terminals (While disconnected from the battery obviously). Let it sit for 20 minutes and it reset the computer. Fired up the car and checked it with the OBD Computer and YEP success. Well worth the money. Sure you can find them for a buck or so, but are you going to drive all over trying to find a place that sells them?
