In my profession (painter at an auto collision shop), having sand scratches show back up after a day or two when the primer/paint/clear soaks up is unpleasant to say the least. You could usually see straight scratches but after buying one of these and modifying it to fit my needs, it blocks just as well, faster and smoother then blocking by hand which when the material does soak up, is hardly noticeable. Awesome tool!
