Solid, sturdy plant tags
Erin✓ Verified PurchaseMay 21, 2017
I bought these for all the different perennial plants and decorative trees I have around my property. These are very sturdy, strong, solid tags. I used Avery clear labels to print the plant name and when it blooms. I really like the stainless steel and copper look of these tags.
My only one issue is that the face plate of the tags is slightly less than 1 inch wide (I would say closet to 3/4 an inch) so I had to use scizzors to trim the tags so they would fit. Because of the steel stakes, you can't fold the excess of the label behind cleanly. But that I'd not an issue with the overall product.
Overall, I am so far impressed with these tags.
When they age into that green patina that copper does - they will be even more beautiful. Thanks for a great product

These were exactly the quality I wanted and expected. Delivered very quickly. Now I can keep track of the varieties of blueberries and fruit trees I have planted. When they age into that green patina that copper does - they will be even more beautiful. Thanks for a great product, prompt shipment and great value.
Aged copper plant markers add class to a garden. The only thing that could improve this item would be to have an aging solution to use after stamping or etching the plant names into the copper. I don't understand why some folks are complaining about marking pens wearing off. There is no such thing as a permanent marker on metal exposed to the elements. Unless that marker chemically etches the surface markings are going to wear off. Get an etching tool or engraving tool and it's great. I use a dremel tool with a fine diamond tip and 'write' through paper with the plant names printing on it. Remove the paper remains, touch up and its done.
The answer to my gardening label problem!

I've been using the plastic stakes in my garden for the last few years and inevitably, the weather makes them brittle and the pen fades to the point where I can't read what I wrote 6 months before.
This is the answer! I finally broke down and spent the money to get these copper stakes. They arrived the other day and they're sturdy and attractive, tall enough to stand out from my onions, garlic and herbs. I plan on using a punch to permanently ID my stakes...perhaps I'll patina them with vinegar...
Very Impressed With Quality and How Well They Look in Garden.

I just started to use the ``GardenMate Metal Plant Label'' a few days ago and I'm very impressed with its quality. Each label seems to have a bit more heft than the products that I usually buy at local garden centers. The copper label makes a nice visual marker against the green of the plants. The all aluminum products I've purchased in the past tend to blend into the landscape and I have found myself stepping on them. I don't think I'll have this problem thanks to the copper tag. Of course at this point I'm not sure how this item will stand-up to our harsh Illinois winters, but at this point I'm very impressed with this German made product.
Great product, I highly recommend!

I received these little gems about 2 days after ordering! Permenant marker would work fine on the copper plate (really just a thin sheet of copper, which is perfect for this application), but make sure to wipe the surface off with alcohol to remove any oils. I wanted a more structured look so I printed homemade labels onto a clear plastic sheet (peel n stick window decal sheet) and just cut them out and slapped them on (after cleaning each one with denatured alcohol). These are the perfect size for my plant beds and are just showy enough to b noticeable but don't detract from the beauty of the plants. See the pics, they turned out beautifully and I'm ready for my next batch....Great product, highly recommend!
