Quick,Cheap fix for slip into 2nd
Amazon CustomerSeptember 21, 2018
The whole reason why I bought this servo was because my 1998 GMC K1500 was starting to have a delay in shift going into 2nd gear. It was like 2nd gear was 2 gears, it would shift into 2nd then immediately after there would be another shift. No...it wasn't shifting into 3rd. Still in 2nd gear, so I talked with an older gentleman who repaired and worked on transmissions for 25 years +. He told me that I'm losing 2nd gear, and that I need to somehow make my transmission shift more firm into 2nd gear. It's a patch job, but if it holds up until I can get the money to rebuild mine.... then great. I installed this in my truck and the 2nd gear delay was fixed. It no longer was delayed. It shifted firm into 2nd and it was a complete 2nd shift. Very happy with this product. It's an easy install, if you take your time. It took me about hour in a half from start to finish. One problem I ran into was the 2 10mm bolts for the heat shield, the bolt that's farther back, closer to the exhaust...I couldn't get that off, so i took the one that was closer to the servo cover off and pushed my heat shield up to access the servo.
I like it

Threw it a 700r that shifted like mud.
Firmed it up and that is all I was looking for. Daily driven truck and I didn't want something that would snap my head off. 89 Short Wide with stock ish Small Block.
I reused my old ones but didn't prefer to and it worked out fine.

Received with some of the seals broken. I reused my old ones but didn't prefer to and it worked out fine.
The best thing you can do for the 4L60

I love how this improves the 1-2 and 2-3 shifting in my 2004 Suburban. I don't know why these aren't standard in the 4L60's, but if you haven't installed one, this is one of the easiest performance modifications to the 4L60 that gets you a lot for the minute cost of the part.
