We have used Calphalon for several years with nothing but praise. I have many Unison pots and pans but they do not make this line any longer. When they are out of stock on hand, there will be no more Unison. The new comparable line is Signature, which is priced a little less.

This line was known for two types of non-stick surface; one was to sear and the other was to "slide" which is super slick. I don't know if the replacement pieces use that same technology, but nothing sticks to the surface of either. The pans are all very heavy and add a new dimension to cooking.

After 4 uses the pans coating actually cracked. Had the same problem with other Calpalon pans I purchased here. Called their CS and was told to send them back on my dime. I think that's pretty poor service. Last Calphalon I'll buy.

I cannot go on enough about these pans. They are little bit more expensive but you get so much more for you money. It is made in the USA. It comes with a lifetime warranty. It is dishwasher safe. They are a little bit heavier than the cheap pans but not as heavy as cast iron. They are oven safe. To cook in them is no less than perfection. I am a tough critic. Even when I really like something I usually will not give it 5 stars because I always feel there is room for improvement but these pans, they are perfect! Be careful on Amazon though. Some Calaphon is not made in the U.S. some originates in China and some do not offer a lifetime warranty. I had put a bunch more in my wishlist but when I discovered some are from China and no lifetime warranty I deleted them. I just ordered my second set of these. I waited long enough to see if it would hold up good or not. We use ours daily, usually at least twice a day and in the dishwasher once a day. They are like I bought them yesterday.

In the description it was difficult to determine if the two finishes - slide or sear - were combined in these pans or if you were ordering one slide and one sear. Neither of these things are true. Each of these pans have the slide finish. The Calphalon packaging for this double set makes it sound as if you are getting one of each, so I can understand why the Amazon description is confusing. The quality of the pans is excellent and the sear feature isn't a top priority for me. The four stars instead of five is because of the confusion created by the description.

This is our third set of these pans which might sound bad but we use them every single day an use them hard. We don't use metal utensils and get about 3-4 years from a pan. In other words we have been using them for 10-12 years. Never any issues with warping but we do have a gas range top where this would not be as noticeable.
