I got this for my back porch door so people could brush dirt and mud off their shoes before entering. I prefer this type over other mats because the bristles are long and flexible so they can get into deep groves of shoes. A lot of mats are barely textured and have no mechanical means to get into the tread of shoes due to not having long bristles or having wide raised pads that can't fit into the crevices of a shoe's tread.
The only thing I don't like about this is that I needed to punch several holes into the bottom because it has no means of allowing water to drain. The main area of the mat is like a bucket with bristles coming up from the bottom, so it will collect water.

We LOVE this mat. Love the size. Love the color. Love the material. Love that, in dry weather, the bottom of your shoes are cleaned. BUT, we have had much rain in the Boston area, during the past couple of weeks. The water builds up in this mat. It has no design or mechanism for the water to drain. So, you step on the mat to clean your shoes and the water soaks the bottom of your shoes. You end up tracking mud into the house. Does the manufacturer have a solution for this? I think we are going to have to purchase another new outdoor mat from another vendor to replace this one. This mat is perfect in every way for us . . . EXCEPT . . . that it retains the water and you track mud and water into the house. We cannot be the only family to experience this. Any ideas? Help!

We live in a rural area without a paved road so sand and dirt was always being trekked in, this mat is really excellent for keeping dirt outside, the flexible plastic bristles work well and are super easy to clean.You can use a hose, super easy. Would highly recommend!

I use it for the litter box

I use this in front of the litter box to trap litter. It's almost overkill for something as simple as trapping litter, because this mat is HEAVY. It's obviously meant for heavy duty use, like as a door mat in a high traffic area. But the little nubs are tall and flexible enough to remove litter from kitties' paws BETTER than mats that are actually designed for trapping litter. I've been a cat lady for years, and this definitely beats all the litter mats I've bought in the past (and it's cheaper).
The "little fingers" get brittle and break off
