Personally I don't think this is the "best rice ever", however, it is pretty great. When cooked appropriately it has a slightly stick (not mushy) texture and is soft to chew. I like this brand when accompanying it with a stir fry or such, when I don't necessarily want tougher rice such as jasmine or basmati (which I love don't get me wrong but only when I'm cooking the rice with spices). This particular brand has been my go to when I want a plain white rice that is good at absorbing sauces. For those who are wondering, I still cook it like my regular rice, which means I add some salt and some oil to make it not too sticky. The water ratio they recommended seems like a lot but when you let it soak as instructed, the rice puffs up and it passes the finger test to check the water level. If you're curious to try a new rice I'd recommend this because even the price is reasonable.
Love, love LOVE this rice!

I was looking for semi sticky rice and this is perfect for me. Somehow (and this just may be only me) this rice holds seasoning/flavorings better. I don't rinse this rice before cooking it. I followed the instructions on the bag, 1 1/2 cup rice to 2 cups water or your liquid of choice. I have basmati and jasmine rice as well as this one but this will always be my go to!

If you are familiar with Korean rice from South Korea, go with this one. Korean rice is quite expensive when you buy it in the USA. I think this is the best alternative.

We love Nishiki brand rice and usually purchase them at the local 99 Ranch Market or Zion/H Mart. We ran out of it a few weeks ago and the prices at the markets were unusually high so randomly looked it up on Amazon. I was surprised at how inexpensive it is to order it through Subscribe & Save with the bonus of it being delivered to my doorstep! I love it!
Consistent Quality with a Minor Flaw

Nishiki Medium Grain Rice has been a reliable choice for me, earning a solid four-star rating. This rice consistently delivers on its promise of quality, with a few minor imperfections that, while noticeable, do not significantly impact the overall experience.
The standout feature of Nishiki Medium Grain Rice is its consistent cooking results. It yields fluffy and tender grains with a pleasant texture, making it suitable for a variety of dishes, from sushi and stir-fries to rice bowls and side dishes. The flavor is mild and neutral, allowing it to pair well with different cuisines.
However, there have been instances where I've noticed small brown specks on the cooked rice. While these specks do not affect the taste or overall quality of the rice, their presence can be a bit off-putting. It's important to note that these brown specks are not a common occurrence and do not appear in every batch, but they have been noticeable on occasion.
Despite this minor flaw, Nishiki Medium Grain Rice remains a go-to choice for me due to its reliability and versatility. It consistently delivers on its promise of providing quality rice that cooks up well and complements various dishes. The 80-ounce size is also convenient, as it lasts for multiple meals and ensures that I always have rice on hand.
