I bought these pretty little bells so my golden retriever would not scare hikers to death when she runs in the mountains with my son. We didn't want to use a bear bell because it's so loud. These are WAY smaller than I imagined, but surprisingly, my son says they still do the trick. They make a pretty tinkling sound that hikers can hear as she's coming up behind them. The largest bell is smaller than a dime - see attached picture.

Clasp is very nice, however, bells came off after about 4 months. I will look for something a bit more long-lasting.

The bells were nice, while they lasted. The ring holding them in place was cheap and so did not last long with our dog. With a smaller breed dog, something under 20 lbs, they would probably last much longer.
