Replace those 40lb sandbags with Quik Dam
Amazon Customer•June 9, 2017
I used the "Quik Dam" last year and it saved me a flooding rec room at least twice for sure. DO not leave it out in the sun for an extended period of time as mine dried up. I bought two different sizes this year to better place them where I have water problems. Quik Dam beats trying to move those 40 lb sandbags which always end up breaking and a leaving sandy all over.

These work great for diverting water from the edge of a driveway out to a natural runoff point. I do not recommend running over them with the tire of your vehicle as they will pop. I wonder if there is a product that could withstand this action. In my case I done need much height and area doesn't matter much either.
Awesome, brilliant, did the job.

These are amazing! Low profile until it rains. They they soak up the water and turn into sandbags. Note that they have orange printing all over them, so not invisible, or you could leave them behind a bush for emergencies.
Still an awesome alternative for shoveling send into burlap bags.

Not as good as anticipated.

We bought these to block off a gate during irrigation. They are light weight and easy to move while dry and then of course quite heavy when the little gels have absorb water. The problem is they just don't do a complete job. First, they are slow to become water logged. A lot of water has already ran under the gate and into the side yard and out onto the street--which can get us in trouble with the water company. Then, no matter how we pile them on top of one another and bend them to fill in corners, the water still gets through. I've got two sets so these problems are not caused by stingy use. They are almost impossible to find locally (Phoenix) so you might want to order one set and work with them to see if you can get them to work well. Irrigation starts again here in March of 2017 so I'll keep working with them and add an amendment to this evaluation if I figure out how to use them effectively.
They did fill up pretty quickly and swell

We bought 2 sets of these sandless sandbags in preparation for Hurricane Matthew to line our back porch that typically floods even during regular rain showers. These did so well that even when our yard flooded and it rained 14 inches, we still had no flooding on the porch! They did fill up pretty quickly and swell, and where rain runoff was constant we had to add a few towels around one area, but that just let me know that I probably should have bought another extra set for more coverage. I highly recommend these!
