Great product!!!
Mark•March 1, 2018
Just got this and its better than good. This is my first time in working one of the these and i am impressed. The Sound is loud and clear and functions are above expectations. Anything less than a three star review are from people who are just not technically savy, impatient or they just cannot understand the user manual. I installed and programmed this in 10 minutes with the help of youtube and common sense. This is the best for handsfree easy to use bluetooth for my helmet. The helmet i have is a cheap 59.00 modular type so any other review's you read that are negitive, are from people who just dont have any patience or understand how to read the directions for this device. I am not a technical person what so ever but i do know alittle about bluetooths as I've had a few. This is the most easiest to understand product ive ever purchased. Nothing is perfect but this......i have no regrets in purchasing. I have been riding less than year now and this is a great addition.
I am pleased with the performance

I have owned this unit for a few months now. I am pleased with the performance. The only gripe I have rests with my iPhone which for what ever reason wont connect automatically every time. On some calls, I have to go through the phone blue tooth settings to get the headset to connect while my caller waits. As for the unit self, I have used this on highway speed conversations without complaints from the person on the other end about wind noise or distortion. Volume is sufficient to handle even HIGH speeds. I use this only for phone calls. I listen to music via the bike speakers. I would recommend you try this until. I got mine for a good price and overall pretty happy. Battery lasts as long as advertised too.
A total game changer!

In the short month since I purchased this headset I have used it a ton and I have to say it is a game changer I'm very happy with the ease-of-use there was not much learning curve for me I'm not very technology friendly and yet I set up the Home it correctly installed everything and figured out how to operate the controls. The operations work so good I love everything about this. The only Negative that I can see is that the volume does not go quite as loud as I would like I think it goes loud enough to not damage your hearing and that is probably why they governed how high the volume can go but sometimes I am straining to hear when I am on the highway so I feel like I wish the volume went a few notches higher. That being said this is a game changer when I'm listening to directions while I'm on the bike or listening to music and enjoying my Podcasts taking a phone call people I am talking to you on the phone can't even believe that I'm on my motorcycle they can't tell at all. I absolutely love this and I'm so glad I spent the money on it.
Defective within first few weeks, warranty replacement very slow
L. Adcock•July 11, 2017
I'm sure this device could be awesome, and I'm still really looking forward to using it. The couple of times it worked it sounded great and it was fun to have music while on the go. I enjoyed my headset for a couple of weeks after receiving it, then the 'phone' button stopped working reliably. This made it impossible to use voice activated features while on the go, and I soon realized also made it near impossible to turn off. For this reason the battery was almost always dead and it was pretty much unusable. I contacted Sena, and after asking me a few times to try resetting it, was given instructions to mail it back for warranty replacement. I shipped it, and a month after it arrived, and after about five requests for a status update, they respond to tell me they are out of stock. I've been told I'll have to wait patiently until they have more.
The fact it stopped working within the first few weeks, and that it required multiple requests to find out about the replacement, and that they don't even have a replacement to send me afterall, results in this two-star review. At this point, I'm just out of pocket with nothing to show for it except exasperation and a bunch of support-desk tickets.

Don't understand other people's complaints: great product.

Vendor review: I actually got this as a refurbished unit for $80. Couldn't be happier with the purchase; packaging was all original and in perfect condition and you honestly could not tell at all that it wasn't a brand new unit. All parts were included and properly packaged and zero components showed any wear of any kind. I don't see any refurbished units up for sale right now, but if you do you should jump on them immediately (I'm actually waiting for one to pop up just to buy for my spare / passenger helmet).
Product review: I have used this unit on several extended riding trips (over a dozen) over the last year and have also tried out many comparable units (including the SMH10R which I don't think is worth the extra money performance wise although it does look much sleeker and lower profile) and find this product to be excellent. A lot of people complain about sound quality when listening to music but how clear do you expect it to be at 70mph wind noise??? I have been more than happy with the sound quality listening to music and once you get the microphone flipped around the correct way people have actually told me I come in quite clearly to them on the phone even while riding at high speeds. The intercom feature is second to none. Set it to auto voice detect so you don't have to push the button and you can chat with multiple linked up devices (don't even have to be SENA which is great) by just talking. Again I have heard complaints about the range but I am riding through hills and canyons and still having no problem with intercom range even when well out of visual contact.
Overall: if you're riding without a Bluetooth unit you might as well be on a horse because you're missing out on some seriously awesome technology. If you're considering which unit to get, I would for sure go with the smh10 (unless you want two and then the racing low profile model has a great double pack price) especially if you can scoop up a refurbished one which is an unbeatable value.
