As a hospital mechanic I have several keys I use every single day. I have all my work keys (16 keys) on this ring. It's strong enough to hold my keys and even retract them back all they way. Easy to take off and put back on for each work day. Going on 4 years now and this is just as strong as when I bought it.
Incredible product, no frills

The media could not be loaded. For this product only being $10, I would have happily paid double, triple, even quadruple.
Most of the retractable keychains listed on Amazon look like and are (according to reviews) the typical private labelled, Chinese-made junk. This one is made in the USA, feels insanely solid (now I see why the product pictures show some guy with an angle grinder showcasing the product). I'm very critical about any product I purchase and everything about it just makes sense.
CASE:
The case itself is a solid build - made of steel coated with a resilient polymer. The metal belt clip that is assembled onto the casing has no play whatsoever - perfectly tight tolerances. The belt clip itself is pretty strong so be careful with potential wear on soft leather - a tightly-woven nylon gun belt should hold up just fine.
OPENING:
Where other products would have a tiny opening at the bottom and cause friction when pulling the keyring, this product has a slit that runs along the side down to the bottom that allows you to pull away the keyring effortlessly without it causing the case to rotate.
CABLE:
In comparison, almost all the other similar products listed are using nylon strings which is bound to break as you wear it. This one uses a steel cable that is sleeved - so basically a lifetime.
LOCKING FEATURE:
I didn't even know this was a feature until I used it and it actually makes so much sense. If you have a ton of keys that would apply force to the spring inside, it probably would not stay retracted. This has a locking mechanism at the bottom end of the side opening that I mentioned earlier. This not only allows you to have a bunch of keys that could weigh a bunch and keep the keyring retracted, but it prevents it from getting pulled if something gets caught on it. Getting it in and out of that locking portion at the bottom of the slit is very easy.
PACKAGING:
No frills, minimal packaging. It's a simple plastic bag, almost like a packet of fasteners you'd buy at Home Depot. Clearly they invested in the R&D of the product and didn't spend money on fancy packaging that the consumer is just going to toss in the trash.

It's junk but you need it.

The metal belt clip on this thing is absolutely dog piss. I've broken it on both ones I've purchased. The plastic housing is kinda shotty as well, but sturdy for plastic. Now moving on, I'm a custodian so I am entering sometimes over 100 rooms in a shift. Normally I had your typically clip on chain ring for all my miscellanious keys I needed. It was such a chore hooking it and unhooking it, or leaving it somewhere and losing it.
Not with the keybak buddy! Thing is an absolute life saver. Saves me incredible amounts of time, and I get asked "Where'd you get that from?" regularly on the job. It's a marvellous product. Going back to the build quality, the key holder itself, and the plastic I must admit is quite thick. It feels good to use, until the belt clip breaks. I am a pretty tall guy so if the cord were a little longer I'd be definitely thankful. But just in one night I think this thing saves me 30 minutes at least that would otherwise be spent fumbling with my keys. The belt clip is CRAP though! It's like they knew their product was too good, and went back in to poorly engineer it so people would buy more over time! Breaks everytime, and if it's not breaking when I pull the cord to grab my key it comes off, or goes all sideways, breaks, etc. Very annoying!

Good while it lasted

Used it heavily for just under a year before breaking. The part that broke was the plastic bit that holds the actual ring, on the end of the line. If that small part was steel, it wouldn't crack. The rest of it was plastic but was sturdy. How about making the part that holds the ring steel? Mine took a beating in all sorts of weather but that's the way it goes.
Works good

Works, wish cord was a little thicker
