We bought this sight unseen, not knowing what to expect. I do not know flutes so the brand came on recommendation from my son's flute teacher at school. It was supposed to be an "intermediate" flute. I got it for $475 so I was unsure of the quality of the look and sound. It was a bit tarnished upon receipt, but we had it serviced and polished (yes, that cost a lot of money but it needed done) and if my son polishes it with the silver cloth after playing it each time, it should last. I would say it is somewhere b/t a beginner and intermediate flute sound wise, but since he is only 13 maybe someday in high school we'll get a better intermediate flute or an advanced one. The mouthpiece was gold and the rest was silver. He is happy with it, so for the price, I think we did well.

Flute purchased for my Grand-daughter, who is starting her second year of high school. This is the nicest student intermediate (open/closed hole) flute (made in USA), and one of the best buying experiences I have had in a long time. Rich Lupo (seller) went out of his way to make this purchase an excellent buying experience. The flute was tested, adjusted and oiled by professional flute person on staff at seller location. Flute looks and sounds beautiful, plus it carriers a three year warranty by manufacture, plus seller will repair at zero cost for two years.
