Perfect mat for outside entryway!

I bought this rug for use on my covered concrete stoop. This is the entrance to my home which gets the most use and I wanted a rug that was durable and one that would stay flat during wet and windy weather. First and foremost, it has proved to be just what I wanted and needed for that area. It is heavy enough to stay put, the rubber edge is slanted to prevent my shoe from catching it and it is attractive. I bought the 4X3 and it exactly that size, which is the size of the smooth concrete area that I wanted covered. It has not slipped one time and the texture of the exposed side does a very good job and removing dirt that otherwise would be tracked into the house. The underside has a gripper texture that holds it firmly in place. I am extremely pleased with this rug and now my only problem is disposing of all the smaller and thicker mats that this rug replaced.

I must say I had my doubts about this as an outdoor door mat, but it's really great! For a long time, we endured a thick coco coir mat. It was constantly shedding and it's weight and thickness made it difficult to position correctly. The Anderson WaterHog is a fraction of the thickness and weight, but its low profile and super absorbency make it a winner. It's easy on bare feet and seems to be very sturdily constructed. It does a great job of absorbing excess water and dirt. The rubber bottom is heavy enough to keep it in place and, so far, I haven't had any issues with it blowing out of position when it's windy. It sits perfectly flat- no raised edges to catch a strong gust. Currently, I use it on my back porch, which is covered, and it's performed flawlessly. I really like its neat appearance. I'll write an update to let you know how it fairs during the winter months. Ugh, snow!

I wish I would have ordered a larger size. Overall I am very happy with this rug. It not only catches water but dirt, hay, pretty much any crud that comes in on your shoes. Through the wet months I noticed that it allowed the mud to dry quickly and be swept off in a couple hours which I consider a big time PRO It is easy to shake out or sweep off and is holding up well with dogs, cats and our dirty boots. I will probably order a much bigger size to replace this with as the dirt tends to collect around the edges of it. I think a bigger one would be able to do a better job with what I am am challenging this one with. I live in a very dusty area. I am grateful for the help of this rug saving me from needing to sweep even more.
