Good quality valances!

Ordered 5 of these valances from Amazon and very impressed. It took me a while to make a decision on valances and most are very high priced. The price for these can't be beat! These are layered so they are thick.
They will be very wrinkled out of the package so I recommend steaming or ironing very carefully. I have them on a 42" metal curtain rod and a 54" metal curtain rod. The valance is 50" wide so on the 42" rods I pulled and tucked excess material on the sides. The 54" curtain rod is too long so the sides of the metal rod show slightly. I would recommend a decorative drapery rod for wider windows if you want the "straight look".
I have included a picture of the 42" rod and the 54" rod. I have also included the 42" rod before it was pulled tight with the sun shining through. The valances definitely look different depending on the lighting.

I'm not very good at picking out things that will enhance a room like valances, vases, statues, etc. So, I was really throwing a dart by selecting these. I have a "woman cave" that is a little den area in my loft. The colors vary between pine bookcases to a medium-brown set of recliner chairs to a rug that has black and mocha-color swirls. I needed something that would blend in while making the room look classy since having nothing over my window was making the room look bland and boring. I decided to buy 2 sets of these valances and I was ecstatic at making this choice. It really ties everything in the room together while giving it a very elegant appeal. I hate ironing and refuse to do so...so I threw these in a short wash cycle, dried them for about 15 minutes then hung them up. They look perfect. No ironing required. Great buy. You really can't go wrong with these.

I love these valances. I ordered 4 sets to put in a bay window. The quality is wonderful - I've seen comparable items 4 times the price of these. The valance is actually two separate pieces, but sewn together at the top where you put your curtain rod. I was expecting just a piece of plain material attached at the bottom to give the illusion of a two-toned look. I gave the bottom hem a light pressing before hanging, and I think they look great!
