If your tripod did not come with a level, this is useful. Sturdy material.
It might be nice on a smaller round head

It might be nice on a smaller round head, but the lip, and I wish there was not one at all, does not let my Manfrotto / Bogen 3063 head sit flush on my half ball/ the tripod base. It only sits flush installed with the bubble level upside down. It would work fine on my 3055 tripod heads which are round at the base, and would sit flush inside the lip. If the level plate did not have the lip it would be great. Also, you might need to drill through it to use get the grub screws to snug into the tripod head. If it were to sit flush, I'd have drilled.

Well built, precise and easy to install. It wouldn't hurt to have a grip on it to prevent accidental slip when using a heavy head.
