This will not fit a 40 mm eyepiece. I gave it to a friend who used a heat gun to make it fit his. Other then that you would need to cut the first section of thick rubber to get to the softer accordion sections to make it fit.

This is exactly what I was looking for! For me, it keeps sources of light that are behind, and to the sides, from glaring on my scope, when shooting rats in low light conditions! It did fit on my 40mm scope...
