I live in a home built in the 50's and there has been a lot of renovation since. In the attic there is some unusual insulation I was not familiar with. I looked at Home Depot for a test at home kit. I read the reviews before I bought it and found out that there is an additional charge for the lab to process the sample after the initial purchase. So being the savvy shopper I am I checked amazon and found this gem. Upfront it costs more but includes the lab fees. The instructions are a little bit long and require you to set up an account before you collect your sample. Just follow the instructions, set up online account, collect the sample, pop it in the mail and in 5 business days you have your results. They sent me my results faster in 2 business days and they notify you when they receive your sample. totally worth the money to verify your home or business is safe.
Simplest Test Kit EVER!

We ordered this kit for our first home that we purchased. We found that the basement floods and had to tear up all the new carpeting that the previous owners put down right before selling it. Upon tearing up the carpet, we found tiles underneath (hideous tiles I might add). Our home inspector told us that they don't make that size tile anymore and that they would most likely be asbestos tiles. We want to be able to remove these tiles but we wanted to test them first before dealing with something potentially dangerous.
We went ahead and did a quick search online and found this affordable test kit! It beats having to pay loads of money to have a company come in and test it for you. The directions are easy to read and getting a sample for the company was effortless. I'm currently sending in our sample and keeping our fingers crossed that we get some good news!

We were remodeling our upper floor and kitchen and I decided to get this kit. It saved me a ton of money and I was able to identify if there was asbestos fibers in the flooring and work through how to extract our floor.
The next day analysis kit comes with everything to collect the samples and it is very well laid out, including mask, gloves, sample bag and return envelope with postage paid. The same sampling by a lab/service tech and 1 day turn around was over 150.00 more in my area. This kit also allows you to add additional samples of product in the same kit without buying another one (I.e., testing floor and cieling) at the cost of 30.00 for each additional 1 day turnaround you send for analysis.
I was able to collect my sample, send it in and get an analysis within the 1 business days that they guaranteed. it confirmed what I didn't know. There were asbestos fibers and I was able to take the appropriate actions to remove them.
I would recommend this kit to any one who needs to have a confirmation, needs peace of mind or is unsure what you are facing during a home remodel.

Very easy to use. Just fill out an online form; scrape some samples into the sample bag; drop it in the mailer; take it to the post office; check the web site a few days later. The report is easy to understand. You can use your own descriptions to keep things organized if you are sending in multiple samples or are doing work at multiple locations. They don't work weekends. My results were available very early on the first business day after the sample was delivered to them.
Does what it says well.

Does what it says on the tin - find mystery fluff, put it in a bag, in a week or so they'll send you an email not only stating whether it was asbestos or not, but a breakdown of what they think it may be. Found out 60 year old cellulose blow-in looks like friable asbestos. Form is far more geared toward businesses, but you can just put N/A in everything. Just be sure to explain thoroughly where you found it, it helps pinpoint what it may actually be.
