I agree with all of the good things that past reviewers have said.

But I wanted to make a note that I wasn't able to find a way to stop the game in mid-play... or at all for that matter.

I wanted to play just for a minute to test it out... then I couldn't quit the game. I had to go through the fairly tedious process of killing my character three times.

Then it turns out it was all for nothing, because hitting the android back button just took me back to the title screen so I could start a new session. I just had to press the home button and let it stay in memory till android background garbage collection closes it.

in fact, I wasn't actually able to find a pause button, either. Though, I'm sure it's there and I just missed it.

however, I'm also sure that die hard Sonic fans won't really care about these little issues. They will just be very glad to have this game on their portable device.

It's a toss-up between this and Sonic 2 as best Sonic game ever. The time traveling "Make a Good Future" aspect adds some depth and strategy to navigating the levels while still holding onto enough rings to try for a Chaos Emerald at the end of each. The soundtrack is awesome, the level design broke some barriers, the cinematic animations are great and much smoother than in the original Sega CD version, and all the original game's extras (DA Garden, soundtrack access, etc.) are still intact. I own this game on Sega CD (the original), PS2, PS3, PC, and now Android. It never gets old. Truly one of the greats, and when paired with a PS3 (or other) controller on Android, it plays flawlessly. Adding in some tweaks (also in the recent PC/PS3 version) like optional Japanese soundtrack, haptic feedback, mid-game saves, Tails as an unlockable playable character, and toggling between Sonic 2 and Sonic CD styles of Spin Dash really perfect an already excellent game.

Sonic CD was released for the sega cd which sold poorly due to the bad games and the false claims of "full motion video". How ever Sonic CD was the only Sega CD game to sell over 1 Million Units. Which was spectacular for the notorious Genesis Add-on. The game has great Animation on the boot-up. The game on the phones and tablets have game pad support. Which is great for better better gameplay. The game was given better HD graphics. But the game kept its pixel look. Which is good for the nostalgic feel.

CONTROLS AND GAMEPLAY

The touch controls are fluid and responsive 99% of the time. The gameplay feels like the original on the Sega CD. Which is very great. KUDOS Sega Kudos!

If you like the Sega CD release you will like this game. And hey it's worth the 2.99 or 2 pounds for me in the UK and my RATING is 10/10
