Pricey BUT Great Quality!

For just being literal cardboard, it's honestly really well made and looks great. My cat enjoys it but he's still warming up to it a little bit. He probably loves the box the thing came in more than the scratcher itself but at this point I don't expect anything less of him, I'm just happy to have finally replaced his old Walmart scratcher that was in tatters. I paid USD$53.95 for this which is kind of absurd for what it is, but honestly I like it so much that it was worth it. My advice to anyone on the fence about getting this scratcher is: GET IT, but wait for a price drop.

This is absolutely amazing! It's so huge and so worth the money!!! This is a must buy for anyone who has a cat. My cat hasn't left it since I got it 2 months EARLY, 5 days ago. Definitely one of the best purchases I've ever made - which is why, when the old one I'd gotten nearly ten years ago finally just became too torn up, I ordered this second one to replace it. My cats adore this scratcher, and use it also as a bed.
It's large enough even for my extra-large boy (19 lbs of muscle) to stretch out on as he scratches or lays down, and strong enough it takes a long time for it to get messy with the tiny paper bits all cardboard scratchers end up creating.
NOTE: It DOES create those tiny messy bits, all cardboard does - but this one is so tightly woven and strong it takes much longer for them to finally come off. Which is nice as I don't have to sweep or vacuum around it as often.
It's also nice-looking, so having it in our den isn't nearly as annoying as having the cheaper small scratchers - people comment on it as it looks a bit like a small footrest. And in fact, it's durable enough you could use it as such if you wanted to. Put it at the end of a chair as an "ottoman" and encourage your feline friends to scratch that rather than said chair. It just may save your furniture. I definitely recommend it.
