Cuts smooth like butter
Kerry McCabe✓ Verified PurchaseAugust 1, 2023
I love this blade for cutting foam board insulation! It cuts smooth and fast and unless you have a very steady arm, your cuts will wander, but you won't have foam snow all over your house. I took boards and clamped them to the board to make my cuts straight. Very pleased! It makes the job much easier.
Very sharp

Perfect for finishing the cut on 4" or thicker hunter panels. Just wish it came with a sheath. I saved the cardboard package that it came in for when not in use. When in my tool pouch it's a bit cumbersome with the blade being exposed a little but does fit in my 8" deep pouch I use.
Works great in a reciprocating saw!!!

WHO'EVER said these are weak, and fragile LIED! WHO'EVER answered the questions over cutting carpet with these didn't know what they were talking about, or doesn't know how to be gentle... they are exactly a super long razor blade thus are just as easy to break just as a breaking the tip of a razor blade. I bought one 7", and three 4" versions to cut through carpet foam rolls, into wheels then down the side of the wheel into square pieces. then straight through rolls of carpet, and then down the rolls to square sheets as well to make small enough to put in trash can per city code crap... so needless to say ONLY took half an hour, and was effortless! literally made it through every roll cut into wheels with the 7" one finally breaking in the middle of the last cut 90% of the way through finishing the few inches with normal razor. only broke as i hit the floor below... got a little excited... then the 1 4" I used never broke to cut all the wheels i made flattened down, and cut down the sides into square sheets. AMAZING PRODUCT, AND I CAME BACK TO BUY MORE, AND DECIDED TO PUT THIS COMMENT!!!

also BE SAFE THESE ARE OVERSIZED RAZOR BLADES!!!
Well worth the investment

This blade is just what I needed to cut through two-inch rigid foam insulation. It worked fine in my hand knife. I had trouble keeping the reciprocating saw slow enough and steady enough to make clean cuts, but when done right, it cuts the foam like butter.
OK for tough application (closed-cell polyurethane). Great for thick rigid polystyrene.

For trimming closed-cell polyurethane spray insulation I have been using a utility knife with the 25 mm snap-off blades. They worked well, but occasionally too much torque snapped them. I thought that this blade may be a good substitute. The 7-inch insulation blade is sturdy, but slightly less sharp than the snap-off blades I have been using. It did hold up to about an hour of use on tough closed-cell polyurethane, so definitely sturdy. I will probably use this blade when it is more likely to bend very slightly, but use the snap-off blades for the bulk of the trimming. I also tried it on rigid panels, and it worked well; it will also find use when cutting thicker sheets of rigid insulation.
