I really love it. Have a 2500 sq ft house...of course it doesn't cool the whole house. What we do is use it on one-third of the house where we are hanging out, when it is anywhere from 78-98 degrees. It is 108 today, so we use the A.C. until around 9pm when it gets to about 92 then we shut off the A.C. and crack 2 windows, one on each side of the room and turn on the Honeywell cooler. It will get it to about 80 in that room which is way cheaper than running the a.c. At night it gets to about 75 here in the summer, and we get it in the 60's running the cooler all night with the Windows open and use the cooler all morning until it gets to 98 degrees outside.

If we got a bigger one it would be better, but then it would be too heavy to roll around, moving it from room to room. One tank of water lasts all night.
3 things I wish....
1. It should have an automatic pump switch because when you're sleeping the pump won't shut off on it's own and you can ruin the pump. The water lasts about 9 hrs on high until it runs out of water and starts making a sucking noise. The second thing is the casters (wheels) are too small. They work fine on the hard surfaces, but the wheel locks catch on the carpet when rolling a bit. Rolling it around through the carpet on a full tank is a chore with these small wheels.
Third, I wish you could watch the fill looking glass while you fill the tank. The fill hole on top is so small that you have to stand there holding the faucet or hose and stop all the time to look down at the fill level to make sure you're not overflowing. I would have made the hole on top bigger so you can stuff the hose in there so it stays while you watch the front. I had to go buy an automotive mirror so I can hold the hose and mirror on a pole at the same time to watch the fill level as I fill it.
Other than the water level indicator being broken right out of the box, it seems okay.

Other than the fact that the water level indicator didn't work right out of the box, it seems to be okay. I live in western Colorado where the humidity is around 20% or less during the summer and temps reach triple digits for long stretches so I needed something to keep my garage cool and this was a great alternative to A/C. I only have one power outlet in my garage, which is a standard 2-car garage and needed something that didn't pull a ton of amps to cool it. Portable A/C's use around 7-8 amps where as this unit uses less than 2 and seems to cool the air just as well. It does create a bit of humidity when using it in a partly enclosed space so I wouldn't recommend its use in a place you store items you need to keep dry (papers, electronics, etc). One handy feature is the fan-only option which turns the water to the pads off and just cools via fan blades. I found that if I swapped between cool on and off, it keeps the humidity levels down a bit more than just running it on cool altogether. The unit is pretty lightweight to be as large as it is when empty, but when it's full of water you are glad there are wheels on the bottom! The continuous water supply outlet is a nice touch, and a standard waterhose adapter was included with mine. All-in-all it is a great unit so far, time will tell as to its durability but I am deducting one star due to the defective water level indicator. I almost overfilled the unit because of it! Luckily I was looking in the reservoir while filling because I suspected something was wrong when there was water almost touching the fan blades but the indicator was no where to be seen! Get some better Quality Control Honeywell and I will up my review!

I have attached two pictures to my review to show the cooling ability. The first photo was taken 8 minutes before the second photo and in that time, the temperature dropped by 1.1 degree F and the humidity rose 9%. The ambient temperature outside of my garage at the time of the photo was 94 degrees F and the interior temperature was indicated in the first photo.

I live in southern California and we don't have that much humidity, especially when those hot, dry Santa Ana winds blow. I turned my garage into a man cave but in the summer it gets unbearable. I did research into possible remedies and found this top of the line Honeywell Air Cooler to be the perfect solution. It does not have an AC compressor so there are no huge electricity bills. Instead it uses a pump to circulate water in its system to supply a powerful stream of cool, moist air. One tank of easily filled water lasts for hours. You can also run it just as a fan to circulate the air at three different speeds. It even has a timer and a remote. I chose the model for my needs but they also offer smaller or larger versions for different size areas. I probably won't use it on the patio but it is rated for outdoor use. I would highly recommend this product!
This thing works great for this area but don't look at it funny or else......

I live in the high desert of California where it can get as dry as the devils butt crack here. This thing works great for this area but, the reason i give it 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the material it's made out of. This thing is made out of china plastic that soft toy plastic. It works but its fragile. It makes me worry when i move it from room to room I have to use extra precaution when I move it the slightest due to the weak plastic. No leaks and its a good price for it's size. The fan is powerful, speed level 1 is all that's really needed. Downside with it's size is that it's loud at it's highest speed you have to yell in order to have a conversation. This thing needs to be hooked up to a hose to last the night it goes thru water pretty fast. Id say a full tank will last 5 hours before it needs to filled again. All in all this thing works great for the desert and its a good price downside it's fragile so don't let it fall over or hit it.

This product, I believe, was 100% manufactured in China. As such, I suggest you purchase enough insurance for the duration of the length of time you wish to keep this model. It appears to me, after 4 or 5 months of use, to have many design flaws. I gave this unit 3 stars only because technical support is very helpful to your concerns, and may replace the unit before their 1 year warranty expires should something major occur and you have complied with the manual.

This is what to expect. First, you must use Pan Tablets or a capful of vinegar frequently to minimize the salts that typically occur in your water. If not, for many after 1 season, the inside of your unit can become corroded where screws inside will not work and a great amount of salt will cover the bottom, the casing, and its many plastic parts. In addition to the tablets, I may use an evap foam to clean down the major parts.

Second, check your pad to make sure it is one unit as mine was not glued properly, and was split in 2.

Third, when first filing up the unit, for whatever reason there is a small hole at the bottom below the hose. When the float inside the unit is bobbing up and down, water is spilling into the hole and unto the floor. Put some silicone gel or goop inside the hole to curtail any water leakage.

Next, going into the second season, my motor did not work. No idea why, but it will be interesting to see what happens to the others who purchased this unit that it came out last June 2016.

Lastly, there is a vertical bar located inside at the top of the unit. It allows for the distribution of water across the pad. Note there are only 2 cable ties to hold down the unit, one at each end. However, during use over a few months, there is a tendency for the midsection to open up, and water distribution to occur only about 4 inches to the left and right of the midsection, thereby not allowing the pad to be fully immersed with water. I bought some 7" cable strips on Amazon for less than $3 to be placed between the distribution holes.

If I had to do this again, this would not be a suitable choice for me. Maintenance is paramount as the salt in the water will destroy the unit quickly. Design flaws such as the small hole on right bottom, the upper vertical bar, and the split pads cause me to think this was an afterthought. Initially, what I really liked about it was the fact that it could hold 18.5 gallons of water. I must restate that the technical support team including Candi & Lori were very helpful in tackling these issues.
