Nice buy. Running continuously about 5 months, as primary refrigerator no problems. Fits 2 gallon milk without basket upright on large side. Run times are low, temperature stability good. Led lights helpful. Slight smell, half a day most new products do.great energy-efficient compared to previous unit. good product, could never recommend a thermal-electric after using this.
Great little refrigerator/freezer!

I purchased this to use in an van conversion where it will be running off of solar power only. The van isn't ready yet so we have been running it in the house off of normal 120V wall power for several months now with both sides set to -1F for extra freezer storage space.

Pros:
Power usage -
Since I eventually intend to run from solar power only I've been monitoring it's power performance it with a power meter. We live in Florida and let the house get pretty warm during the day while we are at work and we have it running freezer mode on both sides - close to worst case usage for it's eventual permanent home in the van. While it's running it draws 66W but it cycles on and off to maintain temperature so average power usage is only 45W. I expect the power usage will be a 5-10% lower when it's running directly on 12VDC since it won't have to expend energy converting mains power to DC.

Temperature stability -
Both sides stay within a couple degrees of their set points. The small side is usually a degree or two below and the large side is a degree or two above.

Cons:
Audible noise -
I'll preface by saying this is a minor issue for me. The regular refrigerator we have in our kitchen cycles on and off but I never notice it. I do notice when this one cycles. It's not loud by any means but it is noticeable. I hear the fan running during the on cycle and the refrigerant gurgling for a minute or two after it cycles off. Whynter probably owns the fan noise - it would be quieter if they chose a larger, slower spinning fan (but maybe that would have increased the sale price). I thinktThe gurgling sound is characteristic of the Danfoss compressor technology and would be heard on any manufacturer's implementation.

Ice build-up -
I'm running in dual freezer mode and I get ice build up on the top of the wall that separates the two sides. The small side lid was installed at a slight angle causing the seal to be permanently deformed by a rib at the top of the wall between the large and small side. I figured this leak was the source so I requested a replacement from Amazon (excellent return experience BTW). The seal on the new one is in good condition but ice build up still occurs. Obviously this wouldn't happen if you were using it in full refrigerator mode. I haven't tried it in dual mode yet.

Overall I'm happy with the product. It does everything I want it to for a much lower price than comparable refrigerators/freezers by other manufacturers.

Gets cold fast and uses little power. Once cold it uses negligible amounts of power. I left it running over a weekend on a 400AH 12v battery supply and only voltage only dropped 0.1-0.2 volts

I've had two whynter fridges and they work great! There is a slight issue with this particular model and that's the reason for this review and the 4 instead of 5 stars. The setting at which the fridge will cut out if the detected voltage is below a certain value (selectable from 10, 10.7, & 11.7V) seems a little faulty. The fridge seems to detect a lower voltage than is actually present. I've compared the fridge's reading to 2 separate battery voltage monitors in my setup and it's consistently 0.5-0.8V lower. So if you set the cutout voltage to be 11.7V the fridge may not run even if your system is above 12.3V. This happened on my trip and nearly ruined my food. As a word of caution I would recommend setting the cutout voltage to either 10 or 10.7V to be safe.
All things considered, it's a keeper

A great little fridge/freezer that came in very handy after my rv fridge died.

Pros:
Started right up thus virtually plug and play.
Milk gets so cold that my family can't guzzle it down like hogs thus big savings on milk bill.
Doesn't take up TOO much space in my rv.
Very quiet.
I LOVE that it can run off of DC/solar so I can actually be completely independent of the RV parks that charge $40 and up per night.
Very well insulated.
Not near as heavy as some reviewers portrayed.

Cons:
One reviewer that said either side on its own was big enough to hold a weeks worth of food for him and his wife...Well, they must not eat much...
The big side won't hold a gallon of milk unless laid on its side on upper shelf, I am not going to risk that kind of leakage so stuck with little side for fridge.
Compartments appear much smaller than seemingly described.

*The covering I purchased as well appears to help...somewhat, but keep in mind that the cover has 5 holes in it to allow for vents, digital setting screen and two handles? It is a very, very thin canvas. Ask yourself how good is a covering to keep coolness in when it has 3 big square holes in it and 2 smaller rectangle holes? Not much, lol. After inspecting it, would I purchase the cover again? No way. All in all, it sure beats a simple cooler and having to fill with ice constantly and drain water out of it constantly.

**I paid full price for this so my opinion is not influenced by anything other than a buyer/seller arrangement. I can't speak to the longevity as I've only had these items a short while.
