Standard rubber bands. This is one of the most common size ones with a wide range of uses. Fit well around a shoebox or a notebook. I bind my mail together when I go to the post office so I don't have loose pieces. Fair sized box will last a long time and a good price too.

I bought these so I could keep my ratchet straps from being loose and catching each other when not in use. As anyone who uses ratchet straps knows, if you drop a few into a box, when you pull them out, they find a way to grab each other in very inventive ways. It becomes a major struggle to untie them. But with these rubber bands, I now roll the straps around the ratchet and use the rubber band to tightly hold them all together. Fantastic. I bought this size, which I didn't even know existed, because I thought they would stand up to the abuse they'll get. So far, they work perfectly. And I have plenty of spares just in case I lose some.
They stretch and they bind things together. Is there ANYTHING these rubber bands can't do?

These rubber bands were suitably stretchy and springy. I've used them to band several small objects together. You can also shoot them from your index finger or strum them like a ukelele. The cat seems to believe that they're some sort of mortal enemy.

These are extremely durable rubber bands that have found dozens of uses already around my house. They are just the right size and thickness to do just about anything from hold down cloth over the top of a jar to bundle cables to keep a bag or chips closed.
