It's Too Short To Stand and Use
Clark222April 11, 2016
It's too short! I'm 5'-10" and it's too low, especially the screen. I think the center of the screen should be at eye level. At it's highest setting, the center of the screen is at 5'-0" and should be at least 5'-6" (higher for taller folks). The keyboard is also awkwardly low but not as much of a problem. I find myself standing with my legs spread to make myself shorter.
Sturdy, compact, highly functional sit-stand desk. Awesome price.

I love this thing. It's much sturdier than I expected (4 stars), especially for the price (5th star), and thoughtfully designed. So great to find a sit-stand work desk that would fit in my small workspace (about 27"wide by 25.5"deep at the base) without having to spend $700+ for name-brand. Beyond that, I like the little touches -- built-in cable notches, rear under-shelf for a power strip, and the centered (so non-wobbly) cylinder/post for raising and lowering the top half.

The monitor post is sturdy and doing a fine job keeping my 19-pound, 27" monitor at the right height and angle (adjustable up/down angle and height). It comes with a solid, metal (aluminum?) mount and screws for VESA-ready monitors. The mount swivels (stiffly) to adjust up/down angle, and can be turned side-to-side, and mounted at different heights at about 1.3" increments. It holds the monitor a little further forward than I'd prefer, relative to the keyboard tray, but it's within a workable range.

The work surface is just the right height for me (I'm 5'6" tall) at the lowest (sitting) and highest (standing) positions. It takes about 10 seconds to raise it from sitting to standing & vice-versa. Very easy. Just follow the instructions and remember to lock/release both the handle and turn-screw to adjust the height. I learned by accident that the gas cylinder on this thing can hold my entire weight, when I forgot to release the handle to lower it.

It is solid at any height, there's no wobbling as I type. I don't use the swivel-out mouse pad, which is prone to swiveling during use. There is plenty of room on the keyboard tray for my mouse. I do use the cup holder -- nice touch, not super sturdy but it works and is just the right size for my narrow/tall coffee travel mug. The zipper-style cable routing kit that came with is was a nice touch, does clean up the cable mess a bit.

The work surfaces and shelves are heavy black plastic, with chrome-covered metal bars to attach the keyboard tray, contain the CPU area and provide a handle on the back of the desk. The casters are 3" double-wheeled black plastic, bigger and sturdier than I expected. They roll OK on my carpet, but I do better to push the cart from its base now that it's loaded up.

The desk came flat-packed. It took 30 or 40 minutes to build, and required a Phillips screwdriver. I was very glad to see, while putting it together, that there are threaded metal inserts embedded in the plastic to accept the screws, so you're never tightening a screw directly into plastic. Everything fit together well, all parts present & accounted for, and the graphical instructions were fine.
Just what I was looking for: very mobile and height adjustable for sitting or standing use.

I had a huge desk and wanted something a bit smaller and mobile so that I can easily tuck my computer in a closet if I needed the room for guests or something. This cart looked like exactly what I was looking for with this in mind. I was very happy with the easy and quick assembly of the unit and it includes a nice cable management system that worked with most of what I had. I love the bottom tray in the back, it is perfect for my power strip so that I can move the unit around as a whole and I only have one power cable that plugs into the wall. The casters are plastic but roll easily, seem solid, and are lockable. Height adjusted easily at first though after it sat for a couple of weeks, was a bit stiff. The Cable management is designed to take the height adjustment in mind if you use it correctly. They also include a tool to help you thread your cables through the included plastic wire management conduit, this was a nice touch and pretty straight forward.

Loses a star as its not as solid as I'd like, seems a tad wobbly. I would also wish that the monitor pole could go a couple of inches higher. I set my speakers on the ledge below the monitor and they speakers are a little in front of the screen. If they sold a taller pole, I would be very happy. I currently have a 27" LED screen which is about as big as this stand would allow.
