Anxiety
Sandra J Garcia•December 2, 2017
I suffer from anxiety, have had a few panic attacks. I am on prescription medication, but sometimes, you start to feel the anxiety coming on, a store, loud places, etc. this really works to take that edge off, better than taking more pills
A Teaspoon A Day Keeps The Blues Away
CBScorpio•December 15, 2016
I read where lithia water is great for helping people that have cognitive disorders. I ordered a box of it and have been giving it to my Mom who suffers from cognitive issues. She gets a teaspoon a day and it has helped her immensely. I have also been taking it and it has provided a much needed mental boost for me too. Bottom line, I highly recommend this product. It is unfortunate that it isn't sold in greater quantities or that it isn't advertised more. It could MUCH to help enhance the lives of people.

This stuff works. I felt my mood improving. The dosage may be better as 1 teaspoon instead of a teaspoon and a half because it is very potent. I think everyone needs a little lithium in there diet. It would make the world a happier place.
Confusing labeling, cost-effective source of lithium

There's a lot of confusion about dosage, and the packaging doesn't help.

For reference, medical treatment of acute bipolar uses lithium carbonate (LiCO3). From rxlist.com:
"Most patients on maintenance therapy are stabilized on 900 mg daily, e.g., ESKALITH (lithium carbonate)"
Lithium carbonate (is about 9.5% lithium by weight (7/73), so 900 mg LiCO3 is about 85 mg Li.
One might view 85 mg Li / day as the absolute upper limit of dosing. Patients taking these
high levels of lithium are regularly tested for serum lithium levels and kidney function.
So, on to this product.
The bottle lists "80 grains NaCl in 4 fl oz".
One grain = 65 mg, and LiCl is 16.5% Li by weight.
Therefore, the bottle contains 855 mg in one bottle (80 gr * 65 mg/gr * 16.5% Li/gr).
4 fluid ounces = 118 ml, so we have 7.25 mg Li/ml (855mg Li / 118ml).
I weighed the contents of a dropperful of a 1 oz dropper bottle, which came to 0.8 ml, or about 6mg Li.
This to me is a reasonable safe daily dosage if you don't have ongoing medical lab monitoring of Li serum levels.
By comparison, Lithium Orotate is only 4.2% lithium by weight (7 Li / 162 Li Orotate).
So a 120 mg Li Orotate pill only contains about 5mg elemental lithium (and a 5mg pill contains *very* little).
So, relative to other produces (.e.g. https://www.amazon.com/NCI-Advanced-Research-Lithium-Orotate/dp/B000VHCU8M), this product is quite cost effective.

A good source of Lithium
Michelle•August 12, 2016
Many people are low in this trace mineral. Some areas of the country have higher amounts in the water supply, while other areas have very little. (Interesting studies have shown lower violent crime rates in towns with higher concentrations of lithium in the water.) I tested low in both hair mineral tests and blood tests. I was previously using lithium orotate, but it took many, many pills to increase my levels of lithium. Methylation experts, such as Dr. Amy Yasko, stress the importance of good lithium levels before supplementing with B12. Lithium is a B12 transporter and can be depleted with higher amounts of B12. I've also notice a difference in mood--more lightness and laughter--which is always nice! I wish the product were a little cheaper and/or available in a larger size. This size lasts about a month at the suggested dosage.
