Best for keeping heat in one place on my hand

I bought this as a suggestion from an occupational therapist for my arthritis pain in my thumb. While I don't like the fact that it takes time heat up and melt the wax, it is doing its job. I dip my hand in the melted wax a few times and let the heat from the wax wrap around my skin and go deep into the tissue to relieve the pain. It is better than holding a heating pad on with my other hand. I sit and relax for about 20 min, reading or watching TV, then remove the wax.

I got this for my dry hands during winter, it helps so much, not for dainty hands though! If you don't have a high heat tolerance then this isn't for you! A little disappointed in the initial melt, and I personally don't use it with the plastic grate in the bottom, it hinders the melting. Overall does its job and I use it often and without issues!

I read the reviews and they were mixed so I gave it a try because of the price value. I agree that the first time you melt the wax blocks it is too hot to use without burning your hands. I tried it again and the second time the wax melted much faster so it wasn't in there for 3 hours heating up like the first time. It was still a little too hot. I realized that the wax wasn't deep enough to not be very hot by the heating element so I decided to order more wax and that was the solution. I added 5 pounds of wax (buy the beads they melt much faster) Then I have left the wax power on and it keeps it ready to use at a perfect temperature at all times. I asked my salon and that is how they do theirs they never turn it off and just add more wax as needed. If you suffer from arthritis in your hands this is great to do every night to reduce the swelling, inflammation, and pain. I put a think lotion on first, dip 3 times and place my hands in the plastic bags until the wax cools completely. The pain is gone and my hands are super soft. I haven't tried my feet yet but I'm sure it will work well for sore feet.

We use this daily and it works pretty well. It did take a long time for the wax blocks to melt completely so we have to wait quite a while to use it, unfortunately. The pain relief and softness of hands after use is great. We use our hands daily for computer typing and musical instrument playing so we use all types of hand therapies and this one doesn't disappoint. I'd recommend this for anyone looking to relieve their hands of minor pains.

I decided to purchase this for an employee who had undergone a skin graft on her hand after she mentioned how great this type of treatment had felt while she was going through post op physical therapy. I accidentally purchased more than 1 and as I have severe arthritis, I figured I'd give it a try. Wow! I'm glad I did. This really does give hours of relief. It went from red (melting the wax) to green (ready to use) quite a while before the wax blocks were completely melted. I started with all 3 of the blocks that came with it though. It is very hot so don't just start by throwing your hand right in there. I prefer melting it and then not actually using it until the wax is visibly cooling. It's not as hot when you use the liners that come with it but the liners are just thin plastic bags so it's still very hot. I plan to try it while wearing dishwashing type gloves to take better advantage of the relief while the wax is hotter. But I 100% recommend this product and look forward to using it this winter when the extreme cold makes my arthritis flare up more than usual. It's an excellent bargain when you consider the pain relief vs the cost. I'm very glad I accidentally ended up with this.
