Make your project look professional when mounting to drywall

I used this bracket to mount the 10 position transfer switch. I used 2 wood drill bits. 1.5 inch and a 2 inch. I put in 1/2 inch conduit emt for the generation connection and used the included ribbed emt to connect to the transfer switch. The instruction were very good.
Good kit for a finished appearance for the 31410CRK

This kit provides a finished appearance for the 31410CRK. I ordered and used the CK10 plastic face cover plate with this installation as well. The completed product is decent, though as I've read elsewhere - the directions aren't awesome. If you're reasonably handy, the kit installs pretty straight forward, not too different than installing an old work electric box (minus the convenient screw out tabs of course!
I used some spare lumber to build onto an existing stud and screwed the box onto that from the side. It held fine - the kit would apparently prefer you tear out the drywall to expose the stud and mount to it, then repair the drywall. No Thanks. Anyways - if you're moderately handy, have a few hand tools around, a drill/driver and a supply of decent length screws - you'll be fine and will get it locked in.
For the cost, I'd have expected the CK10 plastic cover to come standard with this kit... if you're going to go to the trouble with recessing it, 99% of the time you'll want the plastic cover to give it that completed look.
The only thing I'd do differently is raise my mounting hole 1.5". I didn't correctly figure for the trim pieces, which resulted in my transfer switch sitting slightly lower than my load center. I measured for the bottom of my wall cut while the load center panel was on, and did not factor in the transfer switch's trim size. Rookie error, but I'm not tearing it apart for just that aesthetic at this point... better directions (perhaps with some illustrations) would have made the install faster. All in all, I give it a thumbs up.

Exactly as pictured.

Perfect fit and professional looking. Had no issues mounting it. It has wire holes on the bottom and top depending on requirements. The unit comes with wood kounting screws and was a bit difficult for my metal stud home, but no issues after getting the right hardware.
Decent addition for Finished Wall applications

I purchased this to use with the 10 circuit model. It served its purpose...mostly. Installation was pretty easy. I ran into one problem. There is an adjustable piece that "locks" onto the drywall. The supplied screws to tighten it down however stripped out the holes too easily preventing me from getting a good lock. Not the end of the world, but it is a design flaw and reason for only 4 stars. When the transfer switch is installed into this flush mount, by design, the bottom of the switch box is flush and the top of the switch box sticks out about an inch or so. All in all, this kit provides a much cleaner installation on a finished wall vs. just sticking the transfer switch to the face of the drywall. I would recommend.
Great looking finish to a flush mount transfer switch!

An extremely fine product! This will keep your new transfer switch looking very professionally installed. Made of high quality heavy gauge steel and a very good product for the price. I bought mine as a return or damaged packaging, from Amazon, but the unit is perfect in every way and saved $20 - $30 and it shipped free. I plan on storing my new generator in my garage but move it outside when the power goes off.
It is impossible to find a YouTube presentation that will take you through the steps of installing your transfer switch in this flush mount unit so you have to improvise a little and think it through for your own installation. I can see why some people had trouble with the instructions that came with both the switch and this flush mount kit (no pictures). But if you think about how many different installations that are possible it boggles your mind. The best way is to use the You Tube presentation from Reliance Controls and slowly work your way through the process. Most of the instructions are for a surface mount and there are definitely differences in the installation process. I'm not an electrician or a builder more of a handy man and it took me more time to install the switch and flush mount in the wall than it did to wire the electricity.
All in all the flush mount kit is a must if you want it to look professionally installed. A great value and a fantastic product.
Thanks Amazon for your fine products and great prices!!!
