This is a useful safety device for limited band saw applications - especially with smaller, flat objects. However, it's not that useful for non-flat material which can tilt. I use this occasionally, but for most cutting I still have to use a push stick or two or make a wooden jig.

This would be more useful would be if Platte River changed the design to make them stackable with spacers (as with some of the more advanced feather boards). That would make it possible to slice upright pieces. I'll illustrate with an example, it's easier to get straight cuts through smaller pieces (e.g., pen blanks, cutting board strips) with small bandsaw blades (
