My Staffy has real skin issues, we have tried everything. This salve is by far the best topical relief we have found; relief is practically immediate. A little massaged into the skin, and it virtually heals overnight. Additionally, I like to add a little more of a good quality Vitamin E oil to the jar, which improves its effectiveness, and which it already contains. Some complaints about lumps or hard bits in the salve are purely minor. The salve can get those after being on the shelf for a while. I just heat mine a bit in the microwave, and they are easily dissolved to the original consistency. I definitely recommend this product!

We put this on our little mini Schnauzer as she had a bad hot spot on her hip. She had spent one night in bed just jumping up to bite it, and we tried everything to no avail When Farm Dog Naturals arrived, we put it right on her, and finally she calmed down. Poor little gal was exhausted, but this helped. We are still putting it on her 3 times a day, and she rests well now. As dogs age, they become more susceptible to this kind of thing, and we were really pleased to find something that stopped the irritation and healed the wound. Good job Farm Dog Naturals.

I love this stuff - my dog has grass allergies and other skin issues - this stuff really helps to soothe the itch and heals the sore spots. However - she LOVES this stuff like crack and will lick it off in a heartbeat and if I'm not diligent when applying I look over and she has her tongue in the jar. LOVES IT.

Some have asked about the smell and its not bad, earthy I guess, herbally... after a while its actually pleasant, almost like aroma therapy but does take some getting use to.

Effectiveness - It does seem to help her itchy spots and stops the flakey skin. She scratches or chews until she gets things infected so those spots take more time to heal but as another reviewer mentioned, it seems to bring itching relief almost as soon as you put it on. I want to use it between her paw pads but she licks it off faster than I can get it on there - I smear it on her nose to keep her busy while I'm 'doctoring' her.

My 2 oz bottle has lasted a couple months. Within a couple weeks it did turn 'grainy'. Something in it solidified but its not 'gritty' - the grainy parts quickly dissolve into a cream once you start rubbing it into the skin. Doesn't seem to have hurt its efficacy at all. I would like to see a larger jar - but not sure how long it will keep so this might be the best size.

I do recommend it, my 4 star is due to the solidifying of it & jar size - and I wish it had a more unpleasant taste so I could 'doctor' without it being licked off by the time I screw the lid back on.
Is it worth $18 for 2 oz... probably, depends on how much you need to use it. If I were going through more than a bottle or two a month then maybe not but it really does relieve the itching.

This helps my dog's skin allergy but out of three jars I ordered, two had lumps in it. Only one jar was a smooth cream. What's up with that?

It seems to work extremely well on my dog. Very pleased with the product and always well packaged.
