Material misrepresentation
icetime✓ Verified PurchaseAugust 19, 2018
The product as 'advertised' (first pic) on Amazon clearly states "600 lumens", while the product delivered (note: the correct model) clearly states "400 lumens". Upon inspection of other web sites, they ALL say "400 lumens" (yes, buyer beware), but this is clearly a case of mistaken or material misrepresentation of the product's capabilities. I feel deceived but am going to use the product as-is. I just want to see this corrected so that others are not misled.
Awesome light...but not for everyone

i'll keep this short

it's a Surefire, so it's quality....The reason i say it's not for everyone is because of the switch set up..
1st light touch -- momentary on Low
2nd light touch --momentary on High
1 solid click --on Low
2 solid clicks --on High

this is IMO a very particular set up..There is no I repeat NO 'manual momentary High"..as if you are trying to do your own 'strobe' effect...it will go Low - High - Low -High -Low - High...etc

this click system works for me perfectly and my needs..Thank You Surefire

Solid light that has never let me down. Finally bought another to replace a previous G2X series unit that I unfortunately lost somewhere in the Cascades.northwest of Winthrop last year. I debated about buying a more powerful SureFire but in the end I got a case of the cheapies when I realized that this one served me well for about 95% of what I needed it to do. The only serious knock I have with the G2X is with the chassis; despite its ample texture it can get somewhat slick in the wet, so a swath of grip tape is still a mandatory thing for me. My old unit took a beating and kept on running like a champ; I really expect this one to do the same and so far it has. It survived a drop to the garage concrete slab (about 3 1/2 feet) and aside from a slight scuff is no worse for the experience. A minor quibble is that this light does have a center hot spot to its beam that sometimes I wish could be dialed/focused outward, but something like that likely won't be as affordable at this level of built quality.
Why the yellow tint?? Bright intense white is much better for blinding or lighting.

Purchased the G2X Tactical + Law Enforcement models. When compared last night after dark, no noticeable difference between 320 lum tactical and 400 lum LE models. Both have more of a spread beam, rather than intense center with spread sides. Well built and great design. Spoke to tech support this morning who stated these are not designed to be mounted on a shotgun. Would void warranty if led or tailcap failed after firing gun. These do not comeup on the Surefire website as they are older models, discontinued. Still overall a great light for the price. I am keeping the Tactical for the single click light. Tried the High/Low of the LE model, but for being mounted on shotgun, single high light is preferred. The 320 lumen Tactical is now replaced by a 600 lumen version. Only found on Surefire website. They said the 600 lumen is in center of beam which is where it would count. Will see once received how it compares. Keeping 320 lum tactical also. Noticed the beam is not a bright white though, has a slight yellowish tint.
G2X Pro dual outshines em all

I've had a Sure fire (320 lumens) for the last 15 years. Back then they were made of aircraft grade aluminum. The tail cap but was press only for temp on. To keep it on you had to twist it tail cap further. To get back to using the temporary method you had to readjust it, though it only took a few seconds.
I found the need for a second unit to be kept in the truck for as needed situations. Well they still make the old model only with a new name and the slightly modified tail cap; gone are the days of having to adjust it.

Having said that, I noticed that on the surefire website they also made the same thing only with a dual beam option.... FOR THE SAME PRICE as the single beam. What fool would buy the single beam especially when you don't always need high beam everytime.

I was surprised to learn that Amazon was selling it for around 30% less than surefire.
I wasn't disappointed. Though I opted not to get the model made with aircraft grade aluminum, the new ones are made out of the same stuff many handgun frames are made out of. You can practically run these over with a tank (on dirt) and not worry about it. Even if it did get mucked up, the price factor assuages any concerns about loss and replacement.

If yer new to Surefire, please consider their are none better. Once you choose to purchase (you won't regret it) read the operating instructions.
They still have the temporary illumination option by simply pressing the tail button down slightly (halfway) to get some light. Easily release to cease operations. For constant beam click the button all the way (you'll feel the click) and it's automatically in low beam (15 lumen) which seems to me that it's a bit bright than 15 lumens, but none by much. Switch it to high, 320 lumens on a new battery and it's bright, brilliant white light. It's enough to temporarily blind the vision of a bad guy, especially at night.

Around the house, hiking, camping, it's the perfect lighting companion.
