One of the best almond butters I have tried. My absolute favorite is Justin's vanilla almond butter, but I try to have that as more of a treat due to the sugar. I love the simple ingredients and the texture of this almond butter -- so smooth! It is a near duplicate of peanut butter if you are looking for a similar flavor but avoiding legumes. Will be ordering more when I'm done with the two I've got!

August 30 2016 I decided to order Barney Butter Bare Almond Butter, because it was priced a few dollars less per ounce size, than the Justin's brand, that I usually order at a different vendor's website. Comparing it to Justin's, and the MaraNatha brand, I put it in third place. Hence the 3 star rating.
The almond butter appears too commercial, and not homemade enough for me. It was not very almond tasting either, as compared to the 2 other brands I mentioned. Although not bad, I rate it as "so-so", and would not order it again, even if the other brands I usually buy do cost more per ounce.

This is hands down the best nut butter I have ever tasted in my life! It is so smooth and bursting with the almond butter. I put this in my smoothies as a substitute for peanut butter and it's delicious and nutritious. I also make toast and spread this and raw honey on top for a dessert like snack that will give me a ton of energy. I do think the price is a little steep on Amazon, but this butter is so worth it.

So I'm used to Trader Joe's almond butter, which is smooth. Really smooth. Unfortunately, I recently moved and can no longer shop there, so I decided to try this brand out, as no where around here sells affordable almond butter.

I'll start with pro's:
-The price. This is very genorously priced, and you'd be hard pressed to find a better deal anywhere locally.
-The taste. Taste like good ole Almond Butter.

Now the one con, which makes it unusable for me:
-It is not smooth. This is some of the hardest almond butter I've ever dealt with. Even after stirring the oils back into it. If you plan on using this on bread, good luck. You will absolutely destroy any soft bread that you try spreading this on.

I do not enjoy writing negative reviews, but I hope that this helps others. If you are expecting something that is easily spreadable, look else where.

I didn't do my homework. I've been buying Organic Raw Almond Butter and Walnut Butter for years.
The Barney Butter Bare Almond Butter, ordered in haste, my error, and, altho it tastes good - I know that I should be eating 'raw'.

For those wondering? I learned thru nutrition and health education that when any food is cooked, roasted, baked, grilled - whatever, the nutrients become dead. The food is a dead product. There's nothing better for the human body than raw, fresh, uncooked where the enzymes are still alive . Every part of the body thrives and benefits on raw.

Perhaps this company makes an Organic Raw Almond Butter - ???
