Good DIY Product

I had my fireplace inspected this spring after using it all winter. After they cleaned it they basically told me it was dangerous to use and I'm lucky I didn't burn my house down with me sleeping inside. I decided the cheapest way to fix it that I could perform myself was to get a wood stove insert and use this chimney liner kit to save myself from a fiery death. After putting the insulation kit on, I had to smush the tube about an inch along one side to get it to fit down the chimney but after that it was cake. I will say be careful with your measurements; I was under the impression this was for a 1 - story house but I came up about a foot short and had to buy an extension. Maybe my chimney is taller than most or something, I dunno but that's why the 4 stars instead of 5. The seller was great though as I contacted them twice for support. Wear gloves or you'll cut the ba-jesus out of yourself.
Great Insert

I installed this liner before last winter. It was lost during shipping "no fault of the seller", when I contacted the seller he was great!! I could tell he really felt bad I had not gotten it. He was about to send another one when it finally showed up. Delivery service delivered it to the wrong house. The insert is very nice quality and not hard to wrap with the insulation kit if you follow the directions. I would recommend having someone help when you wrap the pipe. It comes coiled up obviously and it was hard to straighten. I found a way to straighten it that made it very easy. I made about 6 wooden stakes and staggered them in a line across my yard. Start on one end and bend the pipe around the staggered stakes. Works great. This liner fixed my draft problems with my woodstove. It allowed me to burn less wood as well. Great Product. And awesome customer service.
Awesome Product!

The product was exactly as described and arrived very quickly! The major benefit is this seller is also the manufacturer so their shipping is almost immediate! The only reason I took away a star is because they supply you with a chimney cap that uses an adhesive / cement (not included) to secure it to the chimney top. This leaves the possibility of the cap coming loose with the heating / cooling of the chimney during use. It is physically attached to the liner itself so it wouldn't blow away or anything, but it would leave the area between the chimney and liner exposed to drafts and the elements. They have much better caps on the market that actually have screws that tighten up against the sides of the chimney (like a normal chimney cap, but with the connection for a liner in it). These caps are superior to the one included in this kit, which is actually a little flimsy. The money you save though on the liner itself is reason enough to buy this kit! The liner is actually thicker than industry standards (0.06" instead of 0.05"), which makes it a little harder to uncoil and work with, but I think it's worth the hassle for the added durability. Overall it's a great product and does the job! IMPORTANT: If you are using this liner for a fireplace insert and your chimney is on the outside of your house, make sure you buy the 1/2" insulation that wraps around this pipe!!!! You will regret not using it and will face the issue of extreme creosote buildup within the liner!!!
Three months of reduced gas bills will have this thing paid for!

Easy to install, takes two people for sure. Single story house used 13 feet. Cut off two feet. Glad I don't order the 30 foot kit. This kit has all you need. I used some furnace cement for my connection at the stove and high temp silicone for the top. Saved some serious cash doing it my self! Hardest part was cutting out the flue in my chimney and knocking out some internal bricks to snake the pipe through.
High quality, hard to install.

I gave this 4 stars because even though the quality of the pipe is very good, it's to thick. Very hard to turn through the angle at the damper area in the fireplace. The chimney cap I did not use. It was kind of cheap... I used my existing one. If I had to do this again I would buy the pipe kit that is not as thick steel as this one due to the fact probably easier to work with.
