A great way to spark a child's interest.

Grandson found it difficult to open but when he finally did, it was a wonderful surprise! He was disappointed there were only white crystals so we purchased other color/type crystals to add to his collection.

My 6yr old grandson loved these. I would hide one in the yard and he would have a treasure hunt. He was so excited to see what type of crystal was in them. Some of them did not have crystal formations. They had white bumps. He didn't really care. He loved learning how they were formed and had an opportunity to bring them to school and tell everyone how geods were formed. I love things that are scientific and excite the kids curiosity.

The size of these geodes fit the description well. I had a great time opening them with my nieces. I would recommend opening them with a Dremel equipped with a diamond blade. It allows the split geode to become a beautiful display piece once opened.

Exactly what we expected. The kids loved to "Gently" break them open. Just a tip, I used a tile saw to score it all the way around so it would break easily and not shatter. If you roll it and let settle on the heavy side, score it in half so both side should have a nice display. Ours looked great. Mostly white crystals with very little other color. They do sparkle nice. Looking into getting a few larger ones.
