A very good table at a very good price.
Galleyleo•October 19, 2017
As I usually do, I read many revues before deciding on this table. Many purchasers went to great lengths to explain the difficulties experienced with the directions and assembly procedures. I even copied a few to aid me when assembling. I could have saved myself a lot of angst had I known how absolutely easy it was to put together. Everything worked perfectly and I am happy with my purchase. Some complained about getting a knock off; mine definitely is Invacare. Spring loaded raising operation is awesome, with just a little hand down pressure to lower. Intermediate locking is secure. I won't be putting any heavy objects on it, so I'm not concerned with the 25lb. weight limit; but it does have a very sturdy feel to it. Shipping was super fast and arrived with nary a scrape on it. Exceptions can occur, but I think if you are even slightly mechanically inclined, you will not need to concern yourself with assembl-ophobia. Unless you plan on the grandkids using it for a skateboard, I think you will be pleased with the quality of this product. [one caveat: don't over-tighten the screws fastening the frame to the table. After all, it is particle board, and stripping is a possibility. I wouldn't use an electric drill/screwdriver.]
Wonderful over-the-bed table.

Very nice adjustable over-bed table. My husband has been u sing one of these tables for a couple of years now, and he loved it. I had bought myself a different model, because I thought I really wanted a table that had a tilt feature. Unfortunately, the one I ended up with just didn't work as well as this one.
The beauty of this table is that it works exactly the same on either side of the bed. The vertical bar is far enough to the side that the table can be swung deeply into the bed area. With other tables, where the support bar is more toward the middle, you can only move a fraction of the tabletop over the bed. This means you have to lean over to use the table and is not very comfortable. I have been so happy since receiving this table. It is very comfortable to use and is easily adjustable to a good number of heights. I use it for my laptop and have not missed the tilt feature of my old table at all--probably because this one is more adjustable on the height than the old one that had fixed heights.
I definitely recommend this one.

Good value for the money - does the job

Stuck in bed for two weeks after foot surgery, I wanted something that would let me use my laptop and keep various necessities close at hand while easily moving out of my way for the occasional need to stand up. This table does the trick and is about of the quality I'd expect for the price. Assembly was straightforward; I'm assuming they've improved the instruction sheet since some of the earlier poor reviews about documentation, as the sheet I received was very clear.
Pros:
*Affordable
*Relatively easy set up, though you do need a couple tools, including a Philips screwdriver and small adjustable wrench or wrench set
*Rolls easily but has two locking casters if you want it more stable
*Quite sturdy while typing
Cons:
*Top could definitely move up and down more smoothly. Mine requires two hands to adjust, particularly if there's anything of any weight already on the tabletop. But given what I paid, I didn't expect air-cushioned, fingertip adjustability
*The top is definitely a bit darker than the photo would imply, but I didn't buy this for the aesthetics.

After a huge amount of research, I chose this table for my 'senior' aged Mom. We haven't used it in her bedroom though. My Dad's computer desk is between the couch (pillow-type arm) and a bookcase and she needed a place to put her current books, tablet, catalogs, etc., but Dad's desk allowed for a 2.25 inch gap.
Enter, the Over Bed Table from Invacare! It is sturdy chromed steel square tube construction, has a nice wood-looking top, and a bumper around the table top. Plus, a button allows you to smoothly and easily raise or lower the table height! It's as nice as I've seen in very good hospitals.
To finish my story, I slipped the new table between the couch and desk while the top was extended way up, then lowered the top to an easy-to-reach level. (I moved the table's caster wheels so they didn't interfere with the furniture legs.) Now everybody is happy, and for a month Mom grinned and playfully asked, "Did you see my new table?" (My que to fake surprise and offer multiple compliments.) It was fun to find something that made things easier for her now, and will be sturdy and useful for many years.

I wish it would go down about two more inches to use with a chair

Since I was assembling this for my husband, I was relatively pleased with how easy it was to assemble. Key points I ran into included getting enough torque to get the screws firmly inserted without a hand drill and finding an appropriate sized wrench for the bolts.
Even with these tasks successfully accomplished, the table isn't as sturdy as I would prefer, and there is a bit of play between the table and the raiser. Since we are using this with a chair, I also wish that it went down about two inches lower.
Still, it does the job quite well and allows my husband a location to work, have a meal, and keep things on hand. It wheels easily, and meets our needs.
