There's no reason to pay extra for the name brand unless you have money to burn. This has the same ingredients as the name brand stuff and works just as well. I prefer the hydrogen peroxide solutions because I'm prone to getting styes and dry eyes and this kind of solution cleans my lenses a lot better and gets all the protein build up off much better than regular solution. Since using HO solution about 5 years ago I've only had one major stye and another couple that wanted to start forming but didn't quite get all the way there and healed up before it blew up into an eyelid closing red spot.

Besides it helping someone like me who has blepharitis and overactive eyelid glands reduce gland blockage it also makes my contacts more comfortable to wear for longer. Normally my contacts would only last about a week before they were covered with a thin layer of film from my eyes but I can get close to the 30 days of use that I'm supposed to get with my reusable soft lenses.

Stuff is really easy to use. Just fill to the line, stick contacts into the holder, run a few drops or small stream of solution over each contact in their little cage, stick the cage into the clear cup, screw it on, then watch it bubble. You're not supposed to shake it but I do a little because it makes me feel like it's working better. It probably isn't. There's a little hole on the top that will release air or liquid if the pressure from the reaction in the container gets too high.

Be sure to throw away the contact holder once you've finished the bottle. The little gear looking thing at the bottom of the "cage" that holds the contacts is made of a material that starts the reaction with the hydrogen peroxide. By the time you get to the end of the bottle that material isn't able to react as much as when it was new so that's why you have to replace it with another and that's why it comes with two of these devices. Having extras of these isn't just about hygiene, it's about that chemical reaction.

Anyway, my eyes are much happier and healthier since using this solution and I'll never go back to the old stuff which is basically saline solution with a few lipids thrown in.
