Best way to streamline a splice
Triz_Megistus•April 16, 2016
These are the greatest buttwire crimp connector (splicer) I have ever used, the connection is extremely durable, just ensure you use the proper heating utensil. I also bought the saloop, but it was 14-16. These connections streamline any kind of extensions of romex in order to use a cord cover. Great product, Extremely safe, the romex started to burn before the connectors. I just wanted to try it to see how much heat they would take. The romex started on fire, but not the connectors. I like both the Forney and the other brand. These seemed a bit more sturdy, and took more heat, obviously its carrying more current. Highly Recommend

The shrink wrap and adheisive seem to be okay. My biggest problem with these is that the barrel inside is to short. You can't get an adequate amount of wire inside to insure a good splice. I have another brand at home (wish I knew what is was) and the barrel is long enough for two crimps on each side of the center line. Much better for a 30amp connection on a boat.
