Good but not great

I love the idea, the locking mechanism is wonderful and for the most part the product really good but...we have owned it for about 6 weeks and it is opened 2-4 times daily and the lock is starting to stick sometimes. I was hoping for at least a year of use out of this but it is not looking good. The size is on the small side. Approximately 8 bottles fit tightly. If the lock wasn't an issue I would have given 5 stars....I knew the size was small before I bought it.

I changed my review on this safe to a one star because the lock stuck and I had to pry the box open, which was easy to do.

I initially gave this 5 stars because it worked perfectly for what I needed it for. It fit in the medicine cabinet and kept my medication bottles safe from little hands. Worked great until it didn't. One day even though the key was turned I couldn't get one of the locking pins to open. I had to pry the safe open to get my medications. NOT recommended for life saving meds. I'd hate for someone to die because their safe isn't working.
Won't work against a determined effort to break in

This box is not hard to break into if one is determined. I thought it seemed very heavy duty and more likely to protect the contents than any other box that wasn't actually a safe. But that proved to be wrong. If you really want to keep medications controlled, go with a real combination safe.
Not very useful if trying to secure medicine from older kids/adults

Even when it's in the "locked" position, you can still open this safe without a key. At first I thought I just had a bad safe, so I contacted their customer service and they sent me a new one, but it also had the same issue. I believe this safe model has a product defect. Even when locked, just pull the handle all the way up and it will pop open. Not very useful if trying to secure medicine from older kids/adults. It should do the job with younger kids.
