This cord works for both the newer and older versions of Kindle with a very clever connector. This was a practical and clever solution. The cord is long another plus. Excellent!

I needed to replace a kindle cord that my cat chewed on and after reading that newer kindles would be using different connectors, I hated to buy new cables with the old connectors when they'd be obsolete as soon as I bought a new kindle.
So I was extremely happy to see that there was a cable that had both, as well as the longer length I've been needing for traveling (you never know where those outlets are!)
These work great. My only nit is that it's not wrapped to be more durable (my cat can still easily kill it), and the ends are still straight rather than 90degrees, so if you're charging while using, there's additional stress on the connector. Ive successfully found a lightning cord for my iPhone that is wrapped and 90degree, and wish I could have found similar for the kindle.

This charging cord is both mini and C size plugs. I have so many cords from so many electrical items, I have trouble finding places to put them. This cord works perfectly on both my Kindle (mini plug) and my phone (C plug). It is a perfect solution for me and, perhaps for you, too!

When I received my kindle paper white replacement wire it was in the shape of a Y and I'm thinking what in tarnation is this! But it appears to have two ends to be used for different Kindles so it was a two for one. It charged my kindle white and it seems to be holding that charge longer than the previous wire provided. So it was a win win for me.
