Watch for over pricing! This little thing is awesome! Bunny loves it!
RetroMetro•April 21, 2018
Though I did not have a pleasant experience with the seller (It got to the point I returned it because of the way they do business), I must say I love the product. Be warned that this product should only go for around $5 to $7 USD. Watch out for overpricing!
Onto the review!
I filled it with water, which is what I bought it for, I might actually buy a few more, that's how much I love it. It's always a slight of hand with auto water bowls. Put it on the ground before it spills. This didn't! I just turned it over and it started to slowly flow out the groove and dispensed the perfect amount of water. It doesn't gulp loudly, in fact, it's completely silent, so my bunny isn't scared at all. He took right to it after sniffing at it for a while. The bottle size is okay, I wish it were bigger and hopefully, Lixit will make bigger ones at one point! It's easily accessible and my strong male bunny can't move it around easily. When it gets towards the low side, watch out, if your bunny is rough or likes to tug, keep an eye or it'll make a bit of a splash. I totally recommend this for water. Food is probably good as well, though I don't use it for food. I love love LOVE it~!

they are sturdy and great at delivering water
Steven Matarazzo•January 27, 2018
I purchased a few of these for our rabbits. Although some of the more excited bunnies will topple them over (either on purpose, or while playing), they are sturdy and great at delivering water. I have not used them for food, but it's nice to know that's an option.
My only comments are the following: Sometimes it is difficult to screw the purple base on the container. At times the threads seem to jam, requiring a few tries to get it to work. Just requires a little patience (and steady hands when it's full of water!)
Second, when removing the container from the base, I sometimes need to grip on the bottom edge. I almost feel that I'm going to puncture or bend the thin plastic container. However, for six dollars these are minor complaints which I can overlook. I have already purchased more of these as they work well.

Filling for water is a real PITA
Danielle Hess•September 10, 2017
I absolutely hate that I have to unscrew this every time to fill for my rabbits. It doesn't screw back on easily on the water side which is what I use it for mostly and I end up with it cross threaded or fighting with it spilling part of the water. Probably be fine for food but I prefer the top fill waterers 100% over this thing. Once its full, it works fine.
Keeps my Rabs hydrated and happy

My rabbits enjoy drinking water from their new dish. This is a great way to make sure your rabbits have enough water throughout the day. 4 stars because my two rabbits have tipped it over before, which is normal rabbit behavior. In order to prevent this from happening I simply took a zip tie and zip tied the lower area of the water canister as shown in the picture
Not for bunnies with big dewlaps
Graciela•February 5, 2017
My 9.5 year old, blue eyed white holland lop has a large, fluffy dewlap because she's spoiled rotten, lazy, and fat. Tofu's dewlap is so big it hangs into this water bowl, gets soaking wet, and since she immediately trundles over to her food bowl after drinking water, all of the water from her dewlap drips down into the pellets, turning her pellet bowl into a mushy, wet, mess.
Because she owns me, Tofu then refuses to eat until I clean her wet food bowl and give her fresh, dry pellets. She does this to me at LEAST once a day, and is also constantly licking and cleaning wet pellet mush off of her now brown dewlap.
Having a wet, dirty dewlap most of the day eventually made her skin irritated. The moist, warm environment was perfect for a Pseudomonas infection, which my roommates and I immediately recognized by its smell and disgusting, greenish color. Luckily we're med students, so we picked up on the infection before it got too bad. I shaved her fat dewlap, which she hated me for, cleaned the area with betadyne, applied neosporin, and started her on Enrofloxacin. I also ordered her Vetamycin, which I've been applying every night while her bald dewlap heals.
Long story short, don't get this if your bun has a big dewlap. Even if they don't it is preferable to have them drink out of a regular bottle than it is to have their fur get wet several times a day. Tofu's living area is cleaned every other day, and she used this for about year before we ran into problems.
