Both of these the end pieces were unscrewed and the plastic piece are cracked, so I could not screw the ends in. I didn't notice until I installed the brackets, so I don't think I can return. On top of this, I am also super disappointed with the quality. These are very flimsy and I can tell the rod is bowed, can barely support the weight of medium curtains

When they say the material is "Metal," clearly, that's an operative word. These are some kind of coated flimsy material that may or may not be plastic-based. From a distance, these look okay, but the caps are REALLY cheap looking and in fact are a different color than the rods themselves.The finial ends are the silver color pictured, but the rod itself is more of a goldish color. You can't really tell too much until you have a curtain with silver grommet holes that clearly match the ends but not the rod. I was going to use them in our dining room, but they have been banished to the office instead where the rods are hidden by pocket-topped curtains. I haven't had good experiences with returning items on Amazon, or I would with these. Totally disappointed after these had such great reviews from others.

maybe my mistake was selecting the shortest rod and extending it all the way. I should have went with a size up & not extended it. It was pretty flimsy and was bowing. My curtains were only 64"--I'd for sure pass on these if you need a rod for anything longer. Since the rod was sagging, I needed a center bracket. Since I have two of these rods, I had to purchase three sets of brackets because I couldn't find a bracket for sale with matching depth. So what I thought was a "deal" ending up costing a lot more than I bargained for.
That said, the finials are very pretty. They color is nice. If you order a size up, and hang sheers from them, you should be ok & not have to buy additional brackets.

This rod works well with a white lace curtain. I would not want a thicker rod for this particular curtain. Also, the rod is strong.
