Works well. I am using this in an approx 15'x15' koi pond with a submersible 3100gph pump. At first the spray was approx 8' tall and was splashing a bunch so I was having some water loss which was the entire reason I bought this, to replace a waterfall that kept leaking. So I first removed the large center nozzle and that took the spray height down a foot or two but it still wasn't enough. I've since added in a T fitting (underwater) in the pipe between the pump output and the nozzle and have a 1" PVC quarter turn shutoff on the end of the pipe that is T'd off. I was able to further reduce the height of the spray by opening the quarter turn shutoff to relieve some pressure. This relief also came very in handy this past weekend when it was so cold that the top of the pond froze over and when the pump kicked on (its on a timer) the water wasn't able to break thru the frozen layer in the pipe but it was able to come out the relief so the pump didn't burn up. Eventually the running water melted the frozen layer and the water began coming thru the nozzles again. Spray is approx 2' now which is perfect, gives enough visual and audio effects (after 10 years of having the waterfall its weird if we walk outside and dont hear the water splashing) but low enough that most of the splashing water remains in the pond preventing water loss.
Do not use a brass fountain head in a pond with acidic water.

Warning do not use a brass fountain head in a pond with acidic water. I bought this from a different vendor for use in a pond. The pond has 5.0 PH. Within about 10 months the fountain rotted out. The first failure was the center nozzel unscrewed itself after about 6 months. I found it at the bottom of the pond. I then checked the tightness of the perimeter spouts. One snapped off from being brittle. After a few more months I basically had no fountain. 5 of the perimeter spouts had broken off, 1 was 25% rotted through.

Don't get me wrong, the fountain when first installed was very nice and presented well. I was dissapointed when the center spout unscrewed itself over time and fell into the pond. The only major issue I have and this is going to be an issue with any brass fountain head I use is that it will disolve in acidic water rather quickly. The well water in the area in in the rang e of 4.5 to 5.5 depending on area.
