So I'm trying to install a new shower head and the connection to the pipe won't stop leaking. The shower head instructions say tightening a nut with a rubber washer is all that's needed to prevent leakage. But they also say don't overtighten (because the connecting part is plastic). I tighten as much as practicable and it's still leaking. Then I remove the nut and carefully stretch three turns of Blue Monster Teflon tape around the pipe threads. I tighten as before, but now the leak is reduced. I add three more turns of tape (total of six turns). No more leak! The tape is easy to work with and the nut goes on very smoothly.
Works great. It's blue. Definitely good stuff!

Good stuff. That pretty much sums it up. What is also great is the rolls are huge and not only is it a good value dollar wise, the actual Teflon tape is a great weight/ thickness. Will take longer to run out but also has been nice to work with along the way. Compared to others I have tried from various industrial supply houses and the local box stores....this is a definite favorite.

If like me you hate the thin white teflon tape that turns into a string as soon as it comes off the roll and is almost impossible to get to lay flat then you are going to love this teflon tape. It comes in 3 different widths (1/2", 3/4" and 1") It is a thick tape (3-1/2 thousands)thick) which makes it so easy to wrap threads. It also has a lot of tape on the rolls this 1/2" wide tape has 1429 inches on a roll. After using the Mil-Rose once I threw the thin cheap tape in the trash because this tape is not only a time saver it does what teflon tape is supposed to do. I use it everywhere I have threads; air, gas or water.

For gas lines I would suggest doing what my Master Plumber taught me; wrap the threads first with monster tape then brush on a layer of pipe dope over the teflon. I have done this for many decades and never had a gas leak.
Use this not the Generic teflon tape!

My father owns an HVAC business and swears by Blue Monster products. When I had some pool fittings that required teflon tape I remembered him telling me to use this over the cheap generic stuff. Me being a defiant son as always used the cheap stuff the first time around. Had leaking fitting everywhere. Okay, the old man might have been on to something. Second time, I used blue monster Teflon, and had no leaks at all.

Moral of the story use this stuff and save yourself from extra work.

I want to add my voice to many others. I installed myself a filter for swimming pool. First I used regular Teflon tapes sold in Home Depot, Loews and Ace. The filter leaked on joints. I had to redo connections three times putting more and more tape, but after two-three weeks the leakage used to come back. Then I found and used this "Monster" tape and leakage was gone forever.
