If I could give this 6 stars I would. I hesitated to buy this toy based on the mixed reviews and the price. I'm not great at returning things. So, it seemed like a risk.
It's fabulous! This does have the larger number of instruments (13). It works as advertised.
You can hear 1 instrument play or fill the pit with 7 instruments. There are multiple songs that you can play. You can speed up the tempo or slow it down. Both my 3 year old and 12 year old (and I) love it. I'm so glad I bought it.

LOVE. IT. I'm probably more excited about it than the kids are but oh well. Very creative and educational. I love the lights that help you find the melody and the accompaniment instruments! I was on the fence about buying this for my 2 and 4 year olds and I'm so glad I did.

Item is great, but the packaging preparation was terrible. Our box arrived open, one piece of packing material enclosed, one plastic wrap on the toy had been opened, and no paperwork of any kind enclosed. We sent both items back as we ordered these as gifts and did not want to tear into the wrapping that was left to see if they still worked. We will re-order another time as I have seen this product and it is great!!
