Started OK but went downhill fast. - REPLACE THE BATTERIES

UPDATE - It's all about the batteries! Moonrays sent me some replacements that had a slightly higher milliamp-hour (600mAh instead of the original 400) but that didn't help at all.
So I replaced all the batteries with Amazon Basics High Capacity batteries 2400mAh (milliamp-hour) - and these lights stayed on completely bright the entire night - which this time of year is 13 hours!. Obviously it makes the lights more expensive - but worth it if you want them to stay on all night.
Started out OK when they stayed lit for about 5 hours...- but after 2 months now they only stay lit for an hour. After a full day of sunlight - just one hour of light after dark. It's fall so it has been getting colder - and not sure if that is a factor - but it's only in the 40s at night. Very disappointing.

These might be a value to a homeowner that does not have traffic moving past these lights like kids, animals, gardeners, etc. Make sure you have a post digger. If you assemble the light then stick it in the ground it will break. Assemble the light once you have the post completely set. I broke the first one just slightly pushing it into the ground after I had used my post digger and the dogs broke 2 as I was installing them. I'm not expecting these to last very long. Good price. Not so good quality. They do capture sun even in complete shade and they light well. I recommend the ones similar to Hampton Bay. Better quality for an extra $15 per box.

The first batch arrived damaged. Amazon replaced them. We put them into use in mid/late September of 2016. We are now mid June 2017. I noticed that 5 had stopped working. I got around to pulling the 5 to find that 2 had died and no battery would make them work. The other 3 worked but I had to replace the factory batteries (they went bad).
I contacted the seller and told them that I had 2 bad units. The want the bad units returned at customer expense. The problem is that the postage is more than the value of the bad units. The vendor is replacing the 2 bad units this time (1x only).
If you buy these they are very light weight and don't expect to return any bad units without paying...which doesn't make sense.

They look decent at night while they are working. One of mine broke fairly easy while putting it together and 4 of the 8 that I have used are already completely out or so dim you cannot tell they are working without laying on the ground. The first one went out within 2 weeks. It is not a light issue as they are all in the same small area and I have swapped them around. Simply cheap, unreliable materials.

I returned these lights as they provided a yellow decoration and not a white light for me to use when returning at night. They cast a beautiful pattern of little light circles. They're ideal for a flat surface. Pittsburgh, PA has hilly surfaces so much of the pattern was lost in the hills. It lit earlier than the High Gate lights that I prefer. They come (8) to a package rather than (6) like High Gate, but High Gate is a superior product. Moonray is more cheaply constructed.
