Lights easily. I light it on the edge. This way it lights up both top and bottom. Otherwise I have unburnt coal at the end of the process that I have to throw out. I guess I could try to use them again, but nah!

Can be carbon dusty, so wear gloves and open over protective layer(ie. News paper or small sheet). These discs are the perfect heat for burning incense in an appropriate metal incense burner

Good size but I didn't like its self-ignition properties as compared to another brand I use.
One of them "popped" while self igniting. I lit it, things were going fine and then it just popped and blew a piece off into my rug. Luckily it was just a small area rug that got the burn hole. Now I let them sit outside until it turns gray. Only one charcoal popped like this so far and so I hope it was an isolated incident. The price is right.
