Great for pin cushions
LL Bart✓ Verified PurchaseNovember 8, 2017
This is my second order for Nakpunar walnut shells. I thought I would try making some unusual styled pin cushions for Christmas presents using the walnut shells as filler. I like that the shells are good for sharpening pins and needles. The shells make a nice filling and so far, I haven't had any problems with the ground shells working their way out through either the seams or the material of the completed pin cushions.
Good quality, although

Good quality, although, the plastic bag containing the emery had a small hole that leaked a little of the emery into the padded envelope. Will order again when I need more emery.
Lovely weighted pincushion

I used this for Pincushion fill and I am very pleased with it. The walnut shell has a fine grind and is not chunky. It has a nice firm feel when the pins go in - my other one that has poly fill is "wimpy". I also love the weight this gives my pincushion. I am going to use it to make a pincushion/thread catcher for beside my machine.
Leaks through fabric

This product is very finely ground. The consistency is more like sand. You may have to double the fabric used so that the grains will not sift through your project. I can't use it for the particular project I had in mind, however it can be used for maybe making weights.
Great product!

I bought this to make a home made pin cushion. It is small about 3.5" by 3.5" but it keep my sewing pins super sharp. Everyone who sees my pincushion wants one. I did double the fabric on my pincushion. Someone said that the sand is so fine it will find away through. Works great! Great product.
