My kids really enjoy playing with this kit. We've had it for about 6 months now and the kids still love it. All of the rocks pictured in the paper were included plus lots of extras. The majority of the rocks are not very big but you get a couple of bigger sized rocks which is nice. Some of the rocks were very very interesting and unusual and it was so much fun trying to find more information on these rocks. There wasn't too much gravel in our kit. The geodes were nice size and we had fun breaking them. My son also really loved the arrow heads and shark teeth! It was a challenge to identify some of the rocks but that's what made it really fun! Even my younger 3 year old child had lots of fun sorting the rocks and trying to match them with the pictures. I would definitely recommend this kit. It shows that the seller put a lot of time and thought in creating this kit. And the fact that it is made in the USA by employing people with developmental disabilities, that just makes it worth every penny to me!!!

My son asked for a geode for his sixth birthday. I bought him a large amethyst one that I found on clearance at a local store, but I also bought him this set. Right before his birthday, he told me that he wanted a geode that he could crack open. I was so glad I bought him this. Turning 6, he received many, many toys from friends and family. But this really seems to be his favorite! He has spent a significant amount of time looking at the rocks and sorting them on the included sheet, which I laminated. My only thought is that it would be great if the description sheet was separate from the pictures, as more than once, we've sorted the rocks on top of their pictures, only to have my son withdraw the paper to read up about them. I plan to copy the sheet so we have it separate. This set contains a nice collection. Our whole family is pleased!

My son loves rocks. All of them, everywhere we go. I ordered this rock collection just as a little surprise and his little eyes were as big as saucers with glee when he opened the box. He loves them all. He played with and sorted them for hours. I'm also planning on using the collection as a school lesson. I think its a good bargain for the price! The picture chart is helpful and with the internet we found out some types of rocks have different colors etc, which made my little boy super excited to learn, which made this mama happy! There are ton extras that we got online and looked up and it turned into a huge learning experience!
Also, there is a card in the box from the company, that if you arent happy they will make it right.

We couldn't be more happy with this "box of rocks". We bought this for our 4 year old who is in love with rocks. After bringing home several rocks from the street and various other placed, we decided to purchase this collection kit so he would have something a bit more special. We didn't realized how much fun he would have not only looking at the rocks, but also sorting them by various means. Now my son will say, "let's play rocks" and we'll sit at the table sorting them in by color, size, shape, or any other of a list of possibilities. Love it!

This collection is everything described and then some - Way more than 150 in the box.. I believe this is the brain-child of a retired teacher who truly wants to help another generation appreciate rocks.
There is a fantastic variety and there are at least two (and usually 4-10) of each stone, both polished and raw, so the set could be split to share! . My grandson will have hours of fun identifying and categorizing these. It was also very well-packaged and included a nice chart for identification with both photos and descriptions. I highly recommend this for anyone with an interest in rocks & minerals.
