Can't beat it for the price. Bought one and was impressed with it so I bought more. Installed on 3 of my older Surefire lights. 3 bear syndrome came into play. 1 installed as issued, 1 adjusted 2nd spring, and the last, 2nd spring was not used. Be advised, the ring that holds the LED was about 1 turn out, so check that before making adjustments and don't turn it in too tight. On the first try I tightened down the ring, cut the spring and the LED failed.(LUCKY I HAD AN EXTRA) Gradually re-installed spring & adjusted ring snug. All good ! I used the batteries that were in the lights, and use the Z2 daily. It's been about 3 weeks and it's still going strong. I also applied a dialectic silicone goo, I got at an auto parts store to the threads upon completion. Keep in mind, before being discontinued, Surefire was selling the LED conversion (the whole head) for $59 or 69 dollars. Now you have to buy the whole light.
Longest adjustment time was 10 minutes max. (and I'm a college drop out) It took longer to find my dikes then it did for the adjustment.

MUST READ IF YOU WANT THE TRUTH

Purchased for a Surefire M951 weapon light and it was a total waste of time and money. I thought for $10 bucks, 1000 lumens.... Why not. Everything about this product was a complete let down. First off the quality in it self was beyond horrible. The Inner spring came off even before I got the outer spring removed so it would fit in my flash light. Then the Inner circuit board where the inner spring was attached to came loose. From that point on I didn't waste another moments of time. I wanted to hurl this POS across the street and use it as a hockey puck but I decided that I need a nice drive to cool down. I drove to the UPS store when I shipped this POS back and received my refund.
The end......
The end......
Excellent Surefire Upgrade

This LED bulb fits and works in my Surfire C3 centurion 3 cell 9 volt flashlight. It seems to be well made. The shipping time was pretty quick. The question with LED upgrades is are the lumen ratings accurate. In this case I can compare to a Light and Motion Urban 800, 800 lumen bicycle light and a big D cell LED flashlight that I bought a while back at Home Depot that claims 550 lumens
This light is brighter in the center and has longer throw than either. However, the light beam is narrower than either and falls off more off center. This is to be expected for the bike light which is specifically designed to have a broader more uniform beam. So I would conclude the rating is probably accurate. It has certainly significantly upgraded the C3 at minimal cost.

Good fit but shipped from China not USA

I wanted a high powered LED drop in bulb for my tactical flashlight since I wanted to switch to rechargable CR123A batteries and halogen bulbs will burn out using them. It fit on the diameter but is slightly tall, so the lens cap will not seat completely. This will affect the waterproofing but for home use, it should work fine.
The description states these are quality bulbs from the USA not "cheap China" ones, but it was shipped from China.

I can't seem to get the batteries to go dead. Both lamps seems worse than the energizer bunny. Lol.

I put this in my Surefire G2 Nitrolon as a replacement to the Xenon bulb and although this does not "fit perfectly" it does fit and it works very well. By way of explanation, you can't screw the head of the light all the way down to flush if you leave the spring in, which I prefer to do, but it doesn't matter because the o ring is still sealed and prevents water from getting in and the bulb is still snug in place. I am very happy with it, because it's so bright and awesome, and for the price, I don't think it gets a whole lot better. Also, your batteries will last eon's; I guess you can either remove the spring or cut the spring in half if you want it to screw all the way down, but I'm not sure it's necessary or if I prefer to do that.
I have been using both lamps for a few weeks, and the only complaint I have is, I can't seem to get the batteries to go dead.. This thing just keeps on shining.
